I didn't realize people were so crazy about Discovery, what do I know. I guess it is just hard for me to forgive the album that unleashed "One More Time" on the world. 
 
I like the new one better this morning than last night. Only song I really dislike is Touch. This will be in the running to oust The English Riviera as my favorite summer album. 

the CD is coming out on 5/14, according to an e-mail I got from 4AD last month. the vinyl was delayed till late June/early July for the infamous "production issues"
 
btw, saw them in Philly on Sunday night and they were fantastic. Kim's voice is definitely not as strong as it once was, but the band was tight and they were having fun.

I still want the Magnolia Electric Co Sojourner set on vinyl. Probably won't happen now with Molina's death, but one can hope. Maybe a set of his work that he was developing before he died.

Hey y'all!  It's been a while.  I've been occasionally peeking in on the action, but I've been a busy body as of late.  I hope all is well!
 
That said, I've stumbled across something I thought you might not have seen yet.  The website for Upstream Color, a film I saw premiere at Sundance a few weeks back, has the LP soundtrack up for sale at $25 a pop.  You can download it for free, but it's gorgeous and the film is incredible.  Shane Carruth, the filmmaker (and composer in this case) is self releasing the film and doing all the promo, so the cash is likely ending up in his hands.  There's only 500, so get them while they're hot.

Primer is by far my favorite movie.  Probably seen it at least 20 times maybe more.  So stoked to finally see another flick from Shane Carruth.  It's long overdue.

People are willing to spend more money on better music.  I don't think that makes them hypocrites, just means they like music.  If you're somebody willing to spend $40.00 on an album because it's pressed on glow-in-the-dark purple vinyl and limited to 100 copies but not willing to spend $40.00 on a great album (vinyl/cd/digital included) then I think you might be better off collecting comic books.

I love Discogs - the format, the organization, the users for the most part. Love the value option, even if it's not totally accurate. I'm about 300 records behind in my archive to add... but all new stuff gets on there right away. It's a great resource for me.
