I didn't order any of these sale items and am just creepily lurking to watch the arguments, but I think everyone can at least give Thomas credit for responding to pretty much every single post in this thread. Very non-RJ of him.

P+P isn't some kid's bedroom label. They are a full-fledged business -- I'm sure they pay taxes, and I'm sure they also write off all their business expenses such as gas, packing materials, etc. -- I mean, shit, I am a bedroom label, and I write that shit off.
It's just another example in years and years' worth of P+P not getting things right. Ask any number of their bands about the struggles they've dealt with in getting their music released and/or getting the actual vinyl records it's supposed to be pressed on. Farewell Continental, Rust Belt Lights, Junior Battles, Dave Hause, Bomb The Music Industry!, the Swellers -- all of these bands have had legitimate gripes with how P+P conducted business regarding their releases.
I don't care how much you mark down your records -- it doesn't give you the right to grossly overinflate your shipping charges. That's just a dishonest way of doing things. How would you like it if every time you scored a record on the cheap on eBay, the seller said, "Well, since you got a good deal, I'm going to charge you $7 for shipping instead of $4. I mean, you're still saving money on the record, so what's the problem?"

To be fair to everyone I think a lot of people including me have had bad experiences with Paper and Plastick in the past. Their last sale they promoted $4 LP's and people added like 3-5 LP's to their cart and getting charged $10+ dollars and they also have a bad pre-order history as well. Who could forget that Rust Belt Lights LP that took over a year to come out and the last 6 months had to do with "missing jackets" and the Make Do And Mend pre-order where they switched distros mid pre-order and a bunch of people NEVER got their records. Anyone who has the Dave Hause screened Resolutions LP knows about the Calvin in the back pissing on their logo. So no, not everyone is upset about a $4-6 shipping overcharge when you consider their history. Its just slightly gimmicky to overcharge for shipping when it doesn't apply the full discount of a sale. Why not then just charge an appropriate percentage and shipping? Just be honest.
To P+P's credit since Thomas started working for their the communication is MILES better than when they first started. He responds to e-mails (he's responded to mine promptly whenever I send them) and now there is someone from P+P on this board as opposed to the past when they definitely avoided this board. He's obviously here if you have questions. So yeah maybe P+P is moving in the right direction, but there are people here that won't cut as much slack for a slightly gimmicky (although still very generous) sale when they have a bad taste in their mouths from previous experiences.

intentionally making the shipping prices higher than they should be just because you're lazy and/or cheap is AWESOME! never thought i see any business actually discourage transactions. i thought about placing an order because of this sale but i never will after reading that.
