Decided to try and order them from the US uDiscover store.  If you hang around the store long enough it will ask if you want to join the mailing list and it will give you a 20% code that made them $31.99 each.  I actually cancelled Amazon UK because it was making me nervous.

I was also a little nervous about Amazon UK but they just charged my credit card earlier this afternoon.   They are currently showing a delivery between June 10-14th.

  2. This is the best Filter album IMO and long overdue on vinyl.  I will probably pick this up at some point but I want to see if any alternate versions show up first.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a color variant pop up at some point.  Craft Recordings released a white variant for Short Bus so maybe they'll work up something for this.  Solid orange would be cool.

  3. This is always a good thing....new Interpol EP coming May 17th.   Also, if you read in the press release below, while supplies last, all Matador store orders worldwide will also include a vinyl only “All At Once” 7".  It will not be released on streaming services.

Interpol today announce a new EP, ‘A Fine Mess’, which will be released May 17th. The new track “The Weekend,” is available to stream and purchase today.

Recorded during time spent in upstate New York with Dave Fridmann, the five songs that make up ‘A Fine Mess’ gradually emerged as a body of work with a narrative and flow unto itself. The previously released title track, “Fine Mess,” then received further production from Kaines & Tom A.D. and mixing from Claudius Mittendorfer, who had first worked with Interpol as engineer on ‘Our Love To Admire’. The resulting set is a living, breathing postcard from the band to their fans as they tour the world throughout 2019, and a linear continuation of the visceral and contagious energy setloose with ‘Marauder’.

Echoing its title, the artwork for A Fine Mess is illustrated by a series of lost images, recovered from an abandoned police station in Detroit, MI. In a crumbling evidence room – amongst the rubble – an undeveloped roll of film, dated “1-20-96,” featured latent images of a breaking-and-entering scene, the rooms in chaos. From the beguiling refrain of the title track, to the soulful topsy-turvy of “No Big Deal,” cathartic chorus of long sought-after live favorite “Real Life,” anthemic swell of “The Weekend,” and angular shades of ‘Thrones,” A Fine Mess is a bracing and distinct addition to Interpol’s oeuvre.

While supplies last, all pre-orders of the A Fine Mess EP will receive a bonus “All At Once” 7”, available only on vinyl, not on streaming services. This value add is available exclusively on Matador’s webstores worldwide. Orders have the option to bundle the “A Fine Mess” t-shirt, and to purchase the t-shirt separately. This bundle is available only on the US Matador webstore and on Interpol’s online store.

Today, they share the first single, ‘UFOF’ and North American tour dates to add to their 2019 live schedule.  Adrianne Lenker (guitar, vocals), Buck Meek (guitar), Max Oleartchik (bass), and James Krivchenia (drums) have spent the last 4 years on an incessant world tour, winning the devotion of an enthusiastic and rapidly expanding audience.  Their first two back-to-back releases, Masterpiece (2016) and Capacity (2017), have been analysed, wept to, danced to, critically applauded, imitated, hummed idly, and shouted out loud.  They have sound-tracked crowded restaurants, difficult conversations, cowboy bars, yoga classes, night drives, and lonely bedrooms.

U.F.O.F. was recorded in rural western Washington at Bear Creek Studios.  In a large cabin-like room, the band set up their gear to track live with engineer Dom Monks and producer Andrew Sarlo, who was also behind their previous albums.  Having already lived these songs on tour, they were relaxed and ready to experiment.  The raw material came quickly.  Some songs were written only hours before recording and stretched out instantly, first take, vocals and all.

Making friends with the unknown… All my songs are about this,” says Lenker; “If the nature of life is change and impermanence, I’d rather be uncomfortably awake in that truth than lost in denial.”

U.F.O.F. is available for pre-order today on LP, CD, and digital.  Limited translucent orange vinyl is available via the Big Thief store and 4AD store, plus your local indie retailer.  Limited forest green vinyl will be available through Vinyl Me Please, beginning 27th February.
