oojavaguru
My only problem with this is that is somewhat steals the thunder from the Record Store Day 10" that has some of the same tracks. Timing could have been a little better. chilltown38

chilltown38
Great point about stealing thunder from the 10 inch. Had that on the list to pick up for RSD, may end up passing on it now.
marc32137
Camouflage seems like a weird choice.
FangsAnalSatan
I can only imagine that the 'camouflage' is just olive with a beige swirl. Too bad this record has none of their covers. They're some of their best material.

marc32137
Have you HEARD Creedence Clearwater Revival?? Yes, I have. Why would they have a military-centric color if they were mainly anti-war? lexicondevil
chilltown38
Newbury said through their social media that the vinyl is a swirl green. Guess we will see how "camo" it really is.

jaxvinyl
Yes, I have. Why would they have a military-centric color if they were mainly anti-war? Because CCR is a southern rock band from America, who's general fan base resides largely in the South where camouflage is as much a shirt color option as white or black. We all know that camouflage is no longer just "military-centric". Hell, I'm pretty sure my girlfriend has camo colored jeans and she sure as hell has never been in the military. FangsAnalSatan
It has "I Put a Spell on You" which may be my favorite cover ever. I think their covers of Cotton Fields, Ninety Nine and a Half, and Midnight Special are just phenomenal. It does have their cover of Heard it Through the Grapevine, which is awesome, but far too long.
Moglog
Nobody is arguing about pricing yet. Am I in a Newbury Comics thread? But yeah, actually want this one. I'll wait till it's in stores though.

andrewlucas
Dammit. Haha. I literally just bought the black version less than a month ago. Cant beat the Amazon price of $16 though.

When did CCR become "Southern Rock". They are from El Cerrito, California, which is just north of Berkeley. I think you would be hard pressed to find a more anit-war location then Berkeley during their time. Edit: Now I'm stuck between if I should get this realease of the RSD one... or both. One can never have enough Creedence. lexicondevil

33one3rd
Southern Rock is a genre, not a location. Yes they were influenced by Southern Blues but so were every other band at the time. I guess this makes the Yardbirds southern rock as well since its a genre.
ChrisWithanF
It's swamp rock you fools! edit: To end the bickering, here is what their wiki says The band consisted of lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter John Fogerty, rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty (John's brother), bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. Their musical style encompassed the roots rock and swamp rock genres. Despite their San Francisco Bay Area origins, they portrayed a Southern rock style, singing about bayous, catfish, the Mississippi River, and other popular elements of Southern iconography. This argument is pointless. albert and ChardeeMacDennis
