youarethere
Here's an idea. There is a lack of music discussion going on in this forum, so let's post links to decent new bands we find on MySpace... I'll go first. http://www.myspace.com/thistownneedsguns This Town Needs Guns- Indie with a more technical, riffy edge and pianos.

heavyheavylowlow
www.myspace.com/drhelicopter The guy that left Portugal. The Man last years set up this new band, they're pretty good, not mind blowing, but I think they'll be there soon. A split with PTM would kick some major ass though www.myspace.com/theglassocean Josh Beiser of The Chariot and Keller Harbin of Every Time I Die and The Chariot. They put out their EP last tuesday, it really is great, sounds nothing like ETID or the Chariot though, more like RATM and mewithoutYou

ronniethebear
lol Dave Knudson invented finger tapping... Oh I wasn't saying that at all, but he definitely made it more prominent within the "indie music scene" and you have to admit that he has a distinct tapping style that bands are starting to mimic now. forgeagain
Haha, I love all the Chicago bands that are influenced by Dakota/Dakota. Pretty hilarious. I hear a bit of Joan of Arc/Make Believe/other Tim Kinsella business in Themroaringtwenties as well.
