kurtmanner
This is basically a really simple idea on how to store the sleeve of whatever record you're playing. I know a couple of you had wanted to see this from the thread about displaying records, but I decided to make a new thread for it hoping that more people will see and use this idea for themselves. Anyways, it's simple, here's what mine looks like: It basically consists of a random cut length of wood (this one is 14" long piece of 3" interlocking floorboard which provided a groove to better hold the sleeve. I cut it down to 2".) I nailed a couple right-angle brackets into the wall and those seem to hold it just fine. I have run into problems with 2X and 3X LPs but this can be solved by using a thicker piece of wood and having a wider groove. I bought stickers at Michaels. ronniethebear
This is a great idea, especially for someone with cats (like me), because they love to jump up on the speakers and knock the jackets/sleeves off onto the floor.

adamlikesmusic
You should sell them. I know I'd buy one.
kurtmanner
You should sell them. I know I'd buy one. Haha, my mom made the same remark. Minus about buying one. My reply was something to the tune of "Oh great, so all 200 people that still listens to records can buy one". She laughed. Also, one of the best parts about it is that its so easy to make. I really appreciate all the comments on this. Thanks.

skumbucket
if i ever get an apartment with wall space at/near my turntable i'm going to make one of these. though odds are good i'll be using scrabble tiles for the lettering.
adamlikesmusic
Where can one buy a single piece of that interlocking floorboard? I remember when we floored my friends house that he had to buy in bulk.
skumbucket
i imagine you might have to find one somewheres.

frostbrewliner
Cool idea, its always kinda tacky and irritating to have you covers stranded about on top of your speakers and desk and whatnot.

stevenontheradio
I use this one =) Pretty easy to usehttp://www.firebox.com/product/1368?src_t=t20 This isn't the same idea, his is for when he's listening to a record he needs a place to put the sleeve while he's listening. Those are for art purposes.
bendik
I use it for displaying the record im currently listening to, just slide out the one thats in there and slide in a new one. Takes like 10 seconds. I dont see why that cant be used for the same purpose
faith
yeah thats great bendik, I think I'd prefer that
