kamalatapes
Man we just need to unload our arms at this point and get any sort of offensive player. The Padres are just horribles dead last offensively I think were batting .190 as a team
catalinacaper
Wouldnt be surprised to see the Braves unload a prospect for a bullpen arm. Avilan/Carpenter have been awful and Walden came back and walked the first three batters tonight. I've read some Padres trade rumors. Cespedes throw to home was unreal, but this throw by Jose Guillen is probably the best throw I've ever seen. lemongoat

thebiglebowski
Colorado has gotta have one of the highest team batting averages in recent memory. Seems like the bad averages on that team are .280 and there are a bunch of dudes hitting .330+
thebiglebowski
I guess maybe I should take that back -- looks like Colorado has the same batting average that Detroit had as a team last year (.283). Maybe it's just cause it's dudes like Rutledge, Stubbs, and Dickerson tearing it up that it seems crazy. Also gotta factor in that Colorado has a pitcher probably hitting .100 in the lineup every night too. Still having a sick season all things considered

Seems like the bad averages on that team are .280 and there are a bunch of dudes hitting .330+ Have you seen that ballpark? The outfield is massive. And everything travels there. Tulo is the best example. Hitting .200 away and .450 at home. But more related to your point, it really is just a result of about 5 guys who will play about 100 games each this season all batting in the .300s. Colorado's lineup (and rotation for that matter) is as fluid as any.

catalinacaper
And Cespedes throws out Pujols at 3rd from the LF wall on the fly I'm starting to become convinced Cespedes is "missing" those plays initially just to tempt guys into the extra base so he can throw them out

chamb117
that guillen throw predates me, unfortunate. cespedes' throw reminded me of ichiro's laser beam to 3rd. not quite as far but hot damn what an arm

catalinacaper
kinda speaking of which, i heard wood may reenter the rotation around the end of the month? fact or hearsay? Definitely fact. Braves have a doubleheader with the Phillies on the 25th I think? And he will pitch that day for sure. Word is they are shopping Floyd or Harang for a bullpen arm so Wood can finish out the season with about 120 innings
sacredheart
Greatest throw ever in my eyes. Bottom of the 9th, game 6 of the WS with winning run about to score. edit: fuck, I dont know how to embed youtube like all you fancy people.
lemongoat
Just paste the URL and it should be fine. Verlander K'ed 1 of every 3.24 batters faced in 2011, this season he's at 1 of every 6.19. sacredheart

I was expecting around 3.60 ERA and a few more K's but he is the worst guy on my staff.
catalinacaper
How about Tim freaking Hudson still throwing darts at 38 and after a brutal ankle injury? How much are the Braves kicking themselves for not shelling out more for him.
