How did you find Vinyl Collective?

Recommended Posts

people over at glassjaw.net mentioned it last year when the 7"s were coming out, before then i only had a few pieces of vinyl. since then ive added at least 180 pieces to my collection. love this place when i'm bored at work, the collections thread is a personal fav.

so every record in your collection is in pieces? interesting, but sadly not surprising for dumb new jacks like yourself.

Really happy to find you guys. Nothing better than talking vinyl. I'm an addict, plain and simple. Have been since I first walked downtown by myself at age 8 to buy (with my own money) the new Jim Croce single "Time in a Bottle." Got umpteen thousand vinyl occupying way too much space in my house.

I found out about Vinyl Collective from Bill at The Soda Shop who posted the link on my wall. Bill and I are good music writing friends (I run the Ripple Effect and am President of the record label, Ripple Music) and I go vinyl digging with him whenever I'm in Cleveland.

Hope I can contribute something worthwhile every now and then

I'd read about it on punknews.org for probably a couple years, but didn't sign up until around RSD 2011 because I had no idea if there were even any record stores left in my area. It was an enormous help. I've mostly been lurking since then but enjoy coming here thoroughly to keep up with preorders and reissues I might otherwise miss out on. I also have a deadformat account (premier718) that I've done absolutely nothing with.

I've just started my journey down the long vinyl road about 6 months ago where already I have scavenged a decent collection thus far. I enjoy the hunt for awesome music and deals; feels like every record has a story. Part of my record hunt has made me discover this place; I just can't seem to find a copy of The Arkells Jackson Square (hope my search is over soon! ).

My pride and joy so far have to be:

- Death From Above 1979 – You're A Woman, I'm A Machine (2 × Vinyl, LP, Pink, UK press)

- Cake - Fashion Nugget

- The Doors albums I have found while roaming the streets of Manhattan one weekend

- The MANY albums from bands I saw at Coachella this year including New Pornographers - Challengers, Ratatat LP4 and Mumford and Sons

I guess this is my initial post; wassup!?

Gettin er done from Canada - Kevin

I googled "vinyl"

Who stole my S??? Is there really a code to delete the S off the end of vinyl???

WTF??? ???

Hahahahahahahahaha! There does seem to be a code to delete the "s". Smart move I guess as there will be a ton less posts of people arguing with people that say "vinyl(s)."
