kirbypuckett
From what I gathered 09 is the better choice. I refuse to buy sports games anymore though.

vittywatt
nhl 09 no question. both psn and xboxlive have free demos. the demos ALONE show you that NHL 09 is the better game. fuck 98, 96 was the best year for sure. slapshots from the top of the circle FTW every time. Snaggle Von Swift
I can't see NHL09 being good for the PC there's so much involved control wise that would be taken away.
Guest vito
as soon as i'm off work tomorrow, i'll be picking up NHL 09 along with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 3. Words don't describe how excited I am for tomorrow night.
mediocore
2k Sports = a clusterfuck right now. I'd probably go w/ NHL09 and wait for 2k Sports to get their shit together again (hopefully next year, for MLB 2k9's sake...).
sgoodcore
No NHL 09 for the Wii. Screw them.
mediocore
No NHL 09 for the Wii. Screw them. If they had it for the Wii, I'd totally turn my living room into a small rink and check my opponents into the kitchen, coffee table, etc.

Snaggle Von Swift
NHL08 was great, and they really added so much more. I'm excited for the "Be A Pro" mode. the "Defensive Skill Stick" should prove to be cool as well. http://www.easports.com/nhl09/

forgeagain
I really liked 2K8 and 2K7, but after reading about the absolutely insane online multi-player league shit where you create your own players and join leagues and play 6 on 6 matches against other people.....I'm gonna have to switch to NHL 09. I really wish EA would get the MLB license back. MVP 2004 and 2005 are pretty much perfect baseball games. The 2K ones all pretty much suck. sgoodcore
I've played MLB 06 The Show and 07 the Show, both were flawed in certain areas but good. Doesn't the 2K game now feature Joe Morgan and Jon Miller?
