leerobert
I'm laying on my bed, reading some books for tomorrow's Popular Music Culture seminar/lecture and listening to 'At Home With...'. Such a cracking album, I just sat there and smiled to myself at how good this record is, and his back catalogue. Not to mention pretty much any other Kinsella-related records! Next up, maybe some Make Believe, Owls, Ghosts & Vodka and, of course, Joan of Arc. Yes, tonight is Kinsella night in my house.

flicker
appreciation given. One of the best songwriters out there right now. And the guy can tear it up on just about any instrument. The Kinsellas are so talented it hurts me sometimes.
enjoyadrian
i forgot what band it is...i think make believe...where their drummer plays drums and a keyboard at the same time.
murakami
once when i saw owen, he was between songs and wanted a new beer....so he handed his drink ticket to the guy in the front row who in turned passed it to the dude behind him. it got all the way to the bar and his beer was passed back up to him! +1 for the fact that he was drinking Iron City in Chicago

enjoyadrian
allof it Better question: If I had to take one owen record to a desert island with me, which should it be?
flicker
i dont know, i really really like the EP. I think Skin and Bones is one of his best songs that or I Do Percieve. It has a bunch of hits like She's a Thief and Who Found Who's Hair... but really everything he has done has been incredible lyrically and musically. scottheisel
I'd recommend his albums in this order: I Do Perceive (The EP) At Home With No Good For No One Now Owen/The Rutabega split Owen
deafmx
mmmm No Good For No One Now. excellent. he's such a dick though, he hates on himself and packs up merch almost immediately after he's done playing. he doesn't like people telling him how great his music is or that you're there just to see him play. he's always opening for bands he doesn't completely fit in with. i once saw him open for Maritime and it was so stripped down and amazing. been in love with his stuff ever since. he rarely comes to MN so i try to jump on every show he plays here. last time was with Rocky Votolato. i wish some Decembers Architects would make it to vinyl! more kinsella gold. Joan Of Arc and Make Believe are so great live.
leerobert
american football. Apologies all round for forgetting American Football in my Kinsella list!
jhog3411
Owen is good stuff. It looks like he's doing a little east coast swing. I've only seen him headline and play a long set once. I wish he would put a backup band together and do a big tour with them but it looks like that will never happen.
scottheisel
Yeah, I wish he would tour with a full band, too. It would really let his songs reach their full potential. I feel like he sabotages himself live.
