jhulud
Depends on the band I'd guess. Would there be something like etching onthe blank b-side of the 12"?
adamlikesmusic
12" if you don't want to flip, 10" I prefer since I just like 10" records in general.
swank
I'd go with a 10". It's a great size.

justindinealone
we discussed this for an upcoming release, 10" is totally the way to go.
chaps
But I haven't seen many 1 sided LPs. I think a 1 sided LP would be cool as long as there was a screen print on the B side.
jhulud
The only 1-sided 12" I know of is the Helms Alee s/t (which I am still looking for people!!!) and it has an etched b-side. edit: no wait...duh...forgot about the Melvins - (a) Senile Animal 4xLP set...each one of one-sided w/ an etched b-side... daniel
Thursday - Five Stories Falling is a one sided 12".
kyleevanswastaken
1 sided LP with the same thing on both sides wins hands down.
kurtz
The Baroness - Second one sided 12" is the coolest looking record I have ever seen. So go with a one sided 12" and put an amazing etching on the B side. pic taken from DF
zac
If there is gonna be some awesome screen printing or etching then a 12" would be cool. If not then I back a 10" all the way.
patron
King Khan & BBQ Show - S/T repress is a double LP with the D side blank, no etching or anything.
xjustinxschwierx
one sided 12", stenciled/screen printed b side.
chaps
one sided 12", stenciled/screen printed b side. What do you mean by stenciled?
zac
one sided 12", stenciled/screen printed b side. What do you mean by stenciled? I know that wasn't referring to me but I have a Starflyer 59 12" with a whole story carved/etched into the b-side along with a sketch of two guys. It's kind of hard to read unless you hold it in the light but it's pretty cool.
apeman
How about skipping the gimmicks and instead do a 45rpm 12" with music on both sides for better sound quality?
enjoyadrian
How about skipping the gimmicks and instead do a 45rpm 12" with music on both sides for better sound quality? I'm for that. Also Cursive's Burst and Bloom EP is the same songs on both sides.
keevhren
how much does etching an entire side of a record usually run? is this done at the pressing plant or what?

Or since it will cost labels the same, press the same thing on both sides, so It will be like buying 2 copies at once, if one gets scratched or played to death you have a second.
