Who knows why it happens, but some records just don’t sell very well. It isn’t because the release isn’t great, but any numbers of other factors. We, through our distribution, have had a number of really great vinyl releases just never really move and instead of having boxes of vinyl collecting dust, I offer you the $5.00 bargain priced LP.

The A.K.A.s debut album had all of the makings of a great selling record. The band features Mike Ski (of Brother’s Keeper), the band rocks (in an International Noise Conspiracy kind of way), and they had put out their album through the pseudo major label Fueled By Ramen. Reignition/Law of Inertia released this album on vinyl and I think their mistake was not pressing any colored vinyl. The release has a really cool die-cut jacket, but as you and I know, colored vinyl is something collectors seek out. Only 1,000 records have been pressed and it is not likely that this will go out of print any time soon, but I highly recommend everyone add this to your cart the next time you are shopping. It sounds great on wax and at $5.00, you can’t pass this up.

Every week or 2, I will try to find a cool record to sell you at a bargain price. If you run a label, put out a great record, and are still sitting on tons of boxes, get in touch. We might be able to help.

i very like this idea because....

labels have a chance to sell their not so good selling records and it doesn't mean that album is not good,

collectors have a chance for re-think or re-decision for fill their own collections and they might regret if that album will be rare item in someday (althrough it hard to be but it doesn't mean it never gonna happend)

vinyl collective have a choice for new collector who wanna collect and looking for some small price items for start collecting.

Ben,you should write this project on your next week column and update every time that Virgil post a new discount vinyl....

At this point, I plan to keep the $5.00 LP ongoing even if we select a new one. Some might go back to regular price, but most will stay at this low price. thanks.

  • 3 months later...

Would anyone actually buy the Temper Temper LP if it was $5? I'd gladly do that through VC to get rid of them. It's a great record, but they broke up immediately after the records came back from the plant. If they were still a band these would be long gone......only 300 on yellow marbled vinyl....nice double fold silk-screened covers. (opens up like a coat).

I've never heard the band. Got a link to where I could heard some songs?
