hickey
What's the deal with the locked groove on the Bouncing Souls anniversary 7"s? What a pain in the ass. Am I alone in thinking this is silly?

thesack18
on the bside, between track 3 and the bonus track 4, theres a locked groove. you can only here the track if you move the needle manully. otherwise it just keeps spinning on the locked groove
AlexH.
That's actually a clever idea. Like secret songs on CDs that you have to rewind to before track 1 to hear.
suburbanargyle
It's cool if it's on the last song on a side of the record, but that's kinda annoying if it's between tracks.
thechuckdiezel
Yea I did not get this at all its not a secret track its a bonus track a gift for buying it on vinyl versus getting it digitally or downloading it for free and on a 7inch inch its even more of a pain in the ass buy the time you sit down and here the song before it you have to get up and move the needle. hickey
It also sucks if your turntable has an automatic arm that retracts when you lift it...my old turntable did that, so I wouldn't have been able to hear those songs.
Guest afsdan
I have an LP with 500 lock grooves from 500 artists. imagine cutting the lacquer for that one. I released a split 1-sided 7" where each band gets a separate groove. they start on opposite sides of the record, and interlace. krazy! hickey
slightly unrelated, what cd's have this? Quite a few actually (though they're escaping me right now). There was a soundtrack that I remember having this...X-Files movie maybe...I know there are others, but I can't think of them right now. monk0nuggets
I think on Rosetta's "Wake/Lift" there are locked grooves at the ends of each side.
rtw88
Less Than Jake - Goodbye Blue and White has locked grooves on both sides, if I recall correctly. One of the Beatles albums has a locked groove too. I think it's Let It Be, but I'm not sure.
Guest afsdan
I picked up the Sick Llama/Fossils split, and there are 2 songs on each side, each with a locked groove. the new Golden City 10" has one too. Lots have em. enjoy the creativity!
