thischarmingham
It's my understanding that someone somewhere figured out that the best time to end an auction is Sunday at 6pm. My question to you is...if you're bidding on something...and you could choose when it ended for your own bidding convenience sake...when would you have it end. Like what day of the week and time of day.
sgoodcore
Anywhere between 10-12 or 1-4 on any weekday.
jhulud
Loaded question. Nowadays being that more and more people have access to eBay and my job has unblocked the site, it reallt makes no difference to me when it ends for bidding purposes. Or more like sniping purposes. As far as selling, I personally like to have my auctions end either on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Sometime around 5pm-6pm. Likelihood of people having the time and availability to bid on it are better than other days in the week.
dante3000
Between 9am and 5pm, when I'm at work. It's when I check ebay the most and when I tend to bid. If it's later I tend to forget or use automated bidding which I never check. But I may be in the minority.
mrc
i prefer stuff im bidding on to be during the afternoon or some odd hour to limit the bids. The items i always forget or miss are the ones ending 4:45-7p on weekdays because im finishing up work and driving home from the office. i would say sunday evenings are good choice if you are the seller. counterfiction
for an auction to end? when no one else is looking.
lpzgangsta
You also have to put into account the different time zones and international bidders.... the sunday evening and weekday daytime stuff seems good but the rationale depends on where the bidder lives. hickey
I prefer anywhere from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (east coast time) Saturday morning. I'm up and have nothing to do.
jhulud
I hate it when an auction ends during the night, when I'm asleep I've done some stupid shit like waking up at 3am to snipe an auction for something I really, really, really, really, really want... I tried that with an Alkaline Trio auction once and was so sleepy I couldn't type or read the screen right and didn't bid on time. However, I did it again and won I Lied My Face Off. twelvetwenty
I like when they end at night. 9 to 11 (EST) is pretty rad.
mcm1610
I like earlier in the day for winning auctions. I eat my lunch or late breakfast between 10-12 and generally sit at my computer, so if I could have it end there I'd be happy.
chiefwahoo
As a seller, I've never really thought about it. I rarely sell anything, but I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to pay attention to when it ends. As a buyer, I couldn't care less. I put my max bid in immediately and let it go from there. kevbaptist
i like stuff to be finishing around 5-5.30am i'm getting up for work at that time so i think, for some reason, i will be the only person on earth on ebay at that time so how could any one possibly out bid me? i know that plan is flawed, but, it is as one does.... monk0nuggets
Anytime that isn't in the middle of the night is usually fine with me, but the preferred time is probably after 7 at night.
AlexH.
The middle of the night is my time to shine - ending from 1-4 AM. I have classes every other day, so either I can sleep in or I just woke up like 8 hours earlier.
Guest vito
8 am is perfect for me. i'm either just about to leave for work or waking up on days off. sometimes i oversleep, but it works most of the time.
melikecheese
The best time is on a weekend. EBay receive the most traffic on the weekends, by far. If you have something big you wanna sell do a 10 day listing and start on a Thursday, this means you get 2 weekends and it will end on a Sunday.
