jhulud
The "case" seems nothing more than a glorified rubber band.
kirbypuckett
Anyone want to buy my iPhone 3G?!
mcm1610
This is the first version of the iphone I actually would consider if it wasn't AT&T. But at the end of the day, I don't like being THAT connected to the world anyway. Sometimes there's beauty in the simplicity of real life. jhulud
Now here's the question...being that AT&T is changing their plans for data usage for new customers, how will this affect those of us who currently have the unlimited plans? I know that we will be able to keep the unlimited plans, but will this come into play and stay the same when we upgrade to the 4G? I'm looking at you Scott A. for the anwer/thoughts... Yes you can keep your current data plan. However, if you want to use tethering you'll have to upgrade to the new plans. Check your data usage though, you might not want to keep your current plan. I only use about 500mb a month, so I'm switching to the new one to save $5 a month.
benchwarmer
yea I'm going to switch as well. once I figure out how.
ihprstl
Did they talk about anything else besides the phone? Anything about an updated Apple TV?
lonesomexloveus
are any of you going to use netflix? if so, wouldn't that drastically increase your data usage?

adamlikesmusic
I couldn't imagine using Netflix anywhere I wouldn't have a Wifi signal. School, work, and home for me all have them. I can't think of a single place I regularly frequent that doesn't have Wifi.
jhulud
I don't even have Netflix outside of the iPhone...I'm still old-school!!!
exitenglish1208
i'm gonna use the hell out of netflix, i'm still gonna have the unlimited plan though i'm not eligible for an upgrade until feb. of '11, so i'll probably be waiting for the next iteration unfortunately
bruins4ever
Any news on expanded storage? 64gb?
scotterson
Any news on expanded storage? 64gb? Nope, same capacities. One positive thing about having to wait another year to upgrade!
bruins4ever
^ Yup. I won't be getting one now until I get more storage. I want a minimum of 64gb so I can keep all of my music and have a decent amount set aside for video cuz that screen is gorgeous. Why is it taking longer to upgrade the memory in this thing? Are they just filling the inside with so much hardware they don't have enough space for another memory card?
scotterson
I can't imagine the 64gb flash card takes up much more room than the 32gb. My guess is there's enough new features here to warrant leaving the same capacities, so they are saving that upgrade for next year when there won't be as many new features. Plus I think flash storage is still pretty pricey at 64gb+, but I could be wrong of course.
exitenglish1208
yeah i was really surprised at no 64 gig option, that does make it a little easier to wait for the next one, as i'im recently having to trim down my already-trimmed "iphone playlist"
exitenglish1208
also, quick reply for text message has to be introduced at some point, the biggest fucking glaring omission from the whole operating system. one of like 3 reasons i bother to jailbreak anymore
kirbypuckett
They probably nixed the 64gb to keep the price points and to entice people to upgrade next year.
Snaggle Von Swift
meh, i'm for an upgrade July 6th, currently have a 16gb 3g.. i'll probably sell this and get a new one.
jhulud
Am I the only who is somewhat curious and maybe bothered by the glass-backing? I don't understand why there would be a need to have the back of the phone to be glass as the front. "To avoid scratching" is a lame reason. scotterson
I was curious as well, although I do think it looks fantastic. I would really like to see some drop tests done with it.
