specsthadec
Hi, I'm new to the message boards. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to figure out what color vinyl you're getting when you buy a sealed record at the store. I asked at the front desk and they checked their computers but the dude had no clue. Any tips?

specsthadec
The reason I'm asking is because I already have 2 copies of this particular record. I guess i'll just roll the dice.

cactusbot
If you have enough extra money to just randomly buy records and hope you get a color you don't have, I suggest you visit www.brokencircles.com/store and buy every color of everything. sharkticon
You'd be getting a black version of it. I'm pretty sure most of the colored copies of that sold out nearly immediately.

caitlinryan
Yeah, store owners love it when sealed vinyl is opened for no reason. For some reason people love to unseal the Belle & Sebastian (and other Matador Records) records. They're manufactured by RTI and have a little perforated tear off strip on the plastic. I would say that 75% of the B+S records that spend any time on the shelf end up getting torn open. I don't understand it and it pisses me off more than it reasonably should. I do appreciate that some labels, like No Idea, sometimes put stickers on the outside to indicate what color vinyl is on the inside.

Hey, as long as you have even a fraction of the awesome stuff in-store I don't think your personality matters Where else am I going to get Daniel Striped Tiger, Menomena, Mass Movement of the Moth, and The Decemberists all in one order? haha.
