How do you know what color vinyl your getting?

Hi,

I'm new to the message boards. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to figure out what color vinyl you're getting when you buy a sealed record at the store. I asked at the front desk and they checked their computers but the dude had no clue. Any tips?

Yeah, store owners love it when sealed vinyl is opened for no reason.

For some reason people love to unseal the Belle & Sebastian (and other Matador Records) records. They're manufactured by RTI and have a little perforated tear off strip on the plastic. I would say that 75% of the B+S records that spend any time on the shelf end up getting torn open. I don't understand it and it pisses me off more than it reasonably should.

I do appreciate that some labels, like No Idea, sometimes put stickers on the outside to indicate what color vinyl is on the inside.
