thrillho Posted September 15, 2010 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I saw FU @ the punk rock bowling tourny this past spring. had always heard of, but never listened to. needless to say my mind was blown. we were front row on the barricade and the lead guy stripped off his shirt during the 2nd song and spent the majority of the set on the barricade going fucking nuts. just some amazing hardcore music. they were the #2 highlight of the night (HWM being #1). after they left the stage i knew i was going to be a fan and spend my money on their vinyl. talked with a few members later on in the casino, and as everyone has been saying, they are some of the nicest people. devinr Posted September 15, 2010 Share Posted September 15, 2010 I saw them twice in one day. They played an all ages shows in the back of a record at 3 in the afternoon that was insanity. Damian picking up kids and carrying them over his shoulder and they played mostly older stuff during the early set which was rad. Then 8 hours later they played a 21 and up show. Overall it was an amazing day. FU is one of my favorite bands but I stopped trying to track down some of their obscenely rare records as I just don't have that kind of cash flow. I was behind the barricade pretty much next to Damian the whole time and I mentioned/yelled to him that TNA blows and he said "TNA blows? you're full of shit". After their set, I ran into him and he gave me the biggest bear hug and we spoke about wrestling for about half an hour and how they didn't bring out their merch because they showed up way too late. birdwell Posted September 16, 2010 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Finally saw these guys for the first time this past SXSW at Emo's...GZA (of Wu-Tang Clan) was supposed to perform before them, but bitched out. A Few songs into their set 2 other members of Wu-Tang Clan came out on stage and free-styled for a bit over Fucked Up's rhythm section and then proceeded to go into a few classic Wu-Tang hooks...very very weird, but a shit-ton of fun. They handed out (for free) a hand-screened poster from their FUN FUN FUN FEST show a few months earlier right off of the stage before breaking down their equipment. As everybody else has said, Damian just kinda grabbed his shirt, jumped off stage and just hungout with the crowd immediately after the set, Solid dude.
