jblahmaster
Will be buying this. It's about time they repressed this. Also Tidal was never pressed, so hopefully this means that someone will at least try to press it for the first time.

bgdesign
Be careful preordering the Plain records releases. They overextend themselves and never put a record out on time. I've had a preorder for the Black Crowes releases for over a year now. I guarantee this won't be out when they say.
lifebystereo
Oh shit. I got lucky and found this for $9.99 a few years ago, and my copy sounds great, but I'm stoked for anyone who doesn't already have this to get a copy.

loveisdrunk
Damn you Plain Recordings! Your taste in music is excellent! Too bad you don't use the master tapes to press your vinyl...or really have much quality control at all... That Disco Violante by Mr. Bungle pressing they did was quiet on the music thanks to cramming 70+minutes on one disc, and a NOISY pressing! Their Mazzy Star and Elliott Smith represses were lackluster as well... sigh...

I love all 3 albums and would love to own all of them, but gave up after Disco Violante. Guess it's a good thing I did.
Guest
California sounds ok IMO On my copy, i have to turn it up to twice the level i do for other albums. When i do, it sounds fine, it's just mastered really quietly.

I just do a 24-bit 96khz transfer to my mac anyway, so I just record it extra high, then digitally remove any clicks/groove noise. Voila! That said, the sound of it is not particularly impressive as I might expect. Supposedly California was even intentionally recorded in analogue. I also read that California is supposed to have the most complicated arrangements and many layers. I digress, this is wikiconjecture. Speaking of Plain, I see much negativity about their Elliott Smith releases. I've been considering XO & Figure 8, thoughts on those two anyone? steviex2shoes
I tried from amazon but it keeps getting pushed back. Edit. Wow who knew only a few minutes later I'd get an email from Amazon saying this has shipped and I should have it by Thursday.
deafmx
Disco Volante should have been a 2xLP for maximum audio fidelity anyway. it seems like they really had to cram that record onto a single LP.

firefoxUSSR
How is the sound quality of this pressing? I'm debating whether to pay up for a Sony version or get the Plain release. Thoughts please.
