ever meet anybody famous?

Recommended Posts

I used to work at a movie theater so we had a bunch of people.

Adam Sandler was real cool.

Rosey o'donald is really ugly in real life

Kanye West. I didn't even know it was him at first.

Berry Pepper. I didn't really talk to him.

phillip noyce(guy who directed Clear and Present Danger). Total douche bag.

Jerry Bruckheimer was just strange.

Al Gore

I know there were more but I can't remember.

Oh the two directors of Little Miss Sunshine were super funny.

Dude...I used to work at a movie theater, and no one cool ever came in.

the one I worked at was right in the middle of downtown Seattle so we had big events and special stuff going on a lot.

Got a Hug from Davey Havok once-Was in the pit for ensign and he came up to me and said, "i always wanted to hug a big sweaty bald guy. That was 11 years ago, and I've been scarred ever since.

best story ever.

Thanks, dude.

Oh, I also met Andre Agassi during the 96 olympics at my movie theater i worked at.

OH CRAP. I forgot the most important famous person of all:

RON JEREMY.

I have a picture with him on my Myspace page that a number of my friends still don't think is real... but it's very real.

I totally forgot, I met him too! It cost me $10 to take a picture with him, though. Bastard.

The last person i met was chong. he and his wife were in barnes & noble drinking coffee and reading magazines when i went to visit my GF while she was at work. I timed my walk to the condiment stand when he was up there so it wouldnt be so weird to start up a conversation. He was so nice, he gave us free tickets to his comedy show and invited me to drink my coffee at his table.

other than that, no really meetings with famous people. I went to Denny's at like 3am with Home Grown after a show in st. pete when i was 16.

hung out with AFI about 12 years ago back stage at a venue called the refuge in st. pete when they played with hatebreed. my friends band opened for that show... we couldnt even drive at the time, i think i was about 14 years old.

I went to a record release party for Jay-Z's latest album (not sure of the name -- I worked in advertising at the time, so I went b/c it had an open bar) at some trendy LA club. Tons of celebrities there, but just seeing them doesn't count as actually meeting them, so I'll just list the ones I had some sort of interaction with:

Kim Kardashian

Jimmy Kimmel & Sarah Silverman

Snoop Dogg

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Lamar Odom

Sam Cassell

Jose Canseco

Random skanks from Laguna Beach or The Hills (or both)

Overall it was pretty random. It was the same night as the AMA's, so I think that helped bring even more random people to the event (it sort of acted as a de facto afterparty).

$10? that's weird... my photo was taken for free but it was also a meet and greet/signing thing he did for some mini movie/DVD he put out.

I will get shit for saying this but I don't count people in bands (i.e. bands within this music scene that we listen to) as "famous". To me, being famous implies that almost everyone you know will know exactly who you're talking about as soon as you bring them up. It implies a sense of celebrity as in, if you meet them once the odds of you ever meeting them again will never happen and the odds of them remembering you will be even slimmer. I never liked this whole mentality of when you list the "famous" people you meet, you rattle off a list of people in bands. It doesn't make sense to me, especially if all you did was tell a certain band member "Hey, good set tonight" and maybe shake their hands for two seconds after said band just finished playing... that hardly counts as "meeting". It's not like these people are unapproachable for the most part.

i was thinking the same exact thing.

ive done some extra work and met the cast of rat race (jon lovitz was a huge asshole, everyone else was really cool).

the girl from gilmore girls (during less than jakes video for shes gonna break soon)

and from bands on a little bigger scale...during a video shoot for mest i met john feldmen and benji madden....both really big assholes.

Yea, Ron Jeremy is fucking the nicest guy ever. During sxsw one year for his documentary, he had a panel and afterwards we all got pics with him, unfortunately the girl that took mine, moved back to TN and never sent me my pics...cunt.

But we would up going outside and talking about baseball with 2 other people. ANd he kinda hit on my friend from TN as well.

Oh and i forgot to say whoelse i met, PELE yes, the legendary soccer player. Unfortunately, it was a hello, how are you, let me escort you to your vehicle to get you outta here to catch your plane... very gracious man. he signed my friends soccer ball though.. i didnt have shit to sign and was working so i didnt' want to be rude...

roger from ltj was an ass when i met him

really, i've met them multiple times and they are awesome dudes. they've given me beer and i've blazed with them on multiple occasions.

Same.

Roger even grabbed me and like 20 other kids at the warped philly stop and had a parade and lemme drink tons of their beer 'backstage' if that's what you'd call it at warped tour.

well lemme say what happened:

ltj played last at warped, and then me and my friend hung around for a it and then started heading back. then we see roger (keep in mind that i play bass, and i was like 14 and WAY into ltj, so this dude is like my hero). and i walked up to him and was like "hey roger", and he was just sorta like "hey?". then my friend started talking about how he was "fucking amazing" and "awesome". so maybe that spooked him, but after my friend said all that he just walked away. weird.

haha well that is kinda weird... i met him at warped tour once. asked him to sign a poster. he seemed a little irked, but i'm pretty sure it's because we interrupted him while he was trying to watch the bouncing souls play.

if we're counting musicians, i met joey cape. i ate with shook ones after a show at the saturn cafe (this vegan restaurant in santa cruz).
