flood
Pay Attention haters make me laugh i'll go out on a limb and say i probably have seen MMB more than anyone on this board, as i was a huge ska fan in the new england area in the early nineties, and almost never missed them. Lets Face it was a good solid record, but you can tell the major label influence of sucking all the *-core out of it. Pay Attention was flat, boring, and overall pretty awful. The only people i ever hear defending it is 737 fanboys. Jackknife was a much much much better record, and the desmond dekker single might be the best single they've done in years
tonyregret
I don't think The Bosstones have ever let anyone influence their song writing. Jackknife was a good record, but you can definitely tell that the band was out of gas. I love Pay Attention. It's a solid, all around record. Dicky's lyrics are great on it, and I love the way the band (especially Nate) stepped outside of their comfort zone with it. While I thought Pinpoints was a good album and it was refreshing to see them make a ska heavy record, I am looking forward to an album with a bit of diversity again. That being said, Question The Answers has and always will be my favorite and the best Bosstones record.

It is goddamn perfect.

fresnoska
Hard for me to pick a favorite record of theirs as each one is so different, and it depends on my mood. But if I had to, I'd go with More Noise...I dismissed Pay Attention, at first, but over time have come to appreciate it. As for calling it awful, I think that's a bit harsh. swoopdog
The only people i ever hear defending it is 737 fanboys. Hey Flood just use my name. Funny enough Swoopdog was the first part of Dicky's email back in 2001. Also: Pay Attention was an incredible album! Take it song by song you will notice they all are great in their own way. swoopdog
Got mine today with some really shitty corner dings and creasing. It was sent priority with no bubble wrap or cardboard insert Messaged JSR today hopefully they get back to me soon. edit: We were just told this morning the vinyl is delayed until Dec 20th. Why do I not believe you? Also you need to adjust the price you are charging 2 dollars more than the cost through the label so unless you bought these at retail price your margins are a bit high. http://www.jsrdirect.com/cgi-bin/Make-a-Store.cgi?PHPSESSID=6265dbe116a8ee8303f3f313efc5a8f0&band=MIGHTY+MIGHTY+BOSSTONES&back=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jsrdirect.com%2Fbands%2FMMB%2F&quantity=1&item=MMB712&x=16&y=17 Order from here if you want to get it sometime this week. celebdeath
i'm saddened to see that Jase. even more so that its MMB. i reckon its the right thing to do for them to send a replacement sleeve.
swoopdog
With that extra $2 SRC can afford bubble wrap and cardboard inserts you realize they are making more than 2 dollars right? If they buy them at wholesale rates that means they are making a shit ton. no better than flippers as far as I am concerned. Also I got priority shipping so I am not too worried about not getting a replacement before I head to the Throwdown. i'm saddened to see that Jase. even more so that its MMB. i reckon its the right thing to do for them to send a replacement sleeve. Thanks Justin JSR will do me right.
