mmhmm
Good thread. Had a chance to pick up multiple copies of Relient K's first two vinyl releases, particularly their 'mmhmm' record when it was like $8. Those don't go for much less than $100 now, as best I can tell. kriss
About four or five years ago, I passed on a clear copy of In Casino Out for about $30 because I couldn't justify that kind of money at the time. If only I knew then what I know now...
sharkticon
My hold shelf at the record store I used to work at had a ton of stuff I wish I had purchased before quitting. Including an early press of Mastodon's Leviathan and the first press of Jack's Mannequin's Everything In Transit. With my store discount, they would have been $8-10 each. mmhmm
I bought a copy of Swiss Army Romance at the 2004 (maybe 2005) Warped Tour at the Vagrant booth for $3. They were trying to get rid of all their old vinyl, pretty sure...
travis
The first one that comes to mind was when I could have bought a copy of the Junkies 7" off GJ's webstore and figured it would be up for a while and Id just pick it up later. Not so much.

gabpower
Great topic. About two years ago, someone from the UK was selling the very first Rush seven inch single called "You can't fight it" for $85. It was made in 1973 on 1000 copies on their own Moon label. They were almost all given as promo copies to radio stations so you know they're fucking rare. The record was just put up on eBay for a few minutes so I rushed to Popsike's website to check on the price and it was normally going for $1000! I go back to check on the description wich had almost nothing except "VF" as the condition. What is "VF"? Very fair? We all know that a record known a "Good" will sound like it's pressed on cardboard and look like shit so I asked the seller if the record was alright and a few minutes later a got a reply that he meant VG. I went to buy it and it was already gone. I should have bought it on the spot and ask questions later... I'm sure I will never get such a chance ever again. hobohunter48
When Deja was repressed I didn't think I would ever get a record player so I passed on it because I was low on money. I even had a friend offer to buy it for me then have me pay him back later. Kicking myself to this day.
someasiandude
i kick myself when it comes to Deja Entendu too... i saw it at Hot Topic for years and was like "Eh, i'll get it someday" of course it sold the week i decide to go pick it up. And then a few years back Absolutepunk.net posted that triple crown was selling sealed Dejas for $20. I waited a day to "think" about it an missed out on those copies as well. seafoamgreen
I could've bought Nirvana's Love Buzz single for $30 but I only had $20 on me. I really wanted it, too. Sells for a bit more than that these days. Saw this at Quaker Goes Deaf in like 1995. It was $50 and might as well have been $1M, as I was 14. taylo234
Unless you were looking for a particular variant, last I looked it's not hard to find this for ~$20... Though sealed would up the price I guess, if you're into not spinning the music you buy... Really? I have never seen it for around $20 on discogs or ebay. If you know of any sites selling it that cheap, would love to know! Thanks!
karenestrella182
Last year, someone posted a La Dispute Untitled 7" on eBay for a Buy It Now price of $55. I didn't have the funds to grab it at the time, and I'm pretty sure nobody ever bought it. I messaged the guy a couple of days after it was taken down because I could finally afford it, but never got a reply. I'm still kicking myself for missing out on that deal since they go for way more nowadays.

blinkfan182
I went to the mall with some of my friends a couple years ago and Hot Topic had the 1st pressing of "All We Know Is Falling" by Paramore for like $10, picked it up to buy it and one of my friends said "Why would you get that? You already have the CD" and they convinced me to not get it. Hated myself so much for it, but my girlfriend got it for me for my birthday last year. Still would've been awesome to have another copy. plasma36
Before I got into vinyl I remember seeing Gorillaz's "Demon Days" at my local store for $16 and thinking it was really cool that it was on vinyl. Didn't buy it because I was in middle school and already had the CD. Also, when Man Man's "Six Demon Bag" came out on 2x10" I was tempted to get it, but I wasn't that into them at the time. Really regret that after their incredible show last night and seeing the prices go up and up on Popsike.
