rtw88
I agree with Mansions. Mansions in general is really overlooked. I think that the Weatherbox EP that came out last year is leaps on bounds better than anything else that was released. I don't recall seeing it on any year end lists other than some friends'. Some others: Shores - To Volstead Merry Christmas - Her Exceptional Kindness Summit - Small Talk Small Talk - Lullabies Snowing's song on the 4 way split. the Weekend Nachos and Capsule records that came out this year seemed to sneak by pretty quietly Thanks for digging the Wavelets record! Mansions - Dig Up the Dead Truth, been in love with his music for years and it's about damn time that he gets some attention.
mattisr1984
Probably not overlooked because it's on everybodys year end list but I just got around to listening to the Tombs records and it's awesome. same here. I feel dumb for not listening sooner. my pick is new lows - harvest of the carcass.

mxpxaddict
H O U R V A R ITwo track, 21 minute debut EP; surprisingly phenomenal. This came out of nowhere. In short, do yourself a favor and at least visit their Bandcamp. Easily one of my last-second favorites of 2011. Loving this, thanks for sharing! My pick is... Mountain Sea by Desert Noises http://northplatte.bandcamp.com/album/mountain-sea Not sure how to describe it, kind of a folk/indie mix I guess, but it is just flawless, amazing listen start to finish, my second favorite album of 2011. It just blows my mind that nobody knows about this band yet.

Mansions - Dig Up the Dead Truth, been in love with his music for years and it's about damn time that he gets some attention. Yea they are awesome (even the acoustic.) I've seen them/him do both at the Kling Thing! Loves these/this guy(s)! Another under appreciated release was Jowls/Reptilian. Love Reptilian so much also E!E! IWALE 7" they released. kriss
I feel like the Human Eye record ("They Came From The Sky") was ridiculously underrated. A record comes out that sounds like what Iggy Pop what have recorded after spending 6 months on an alien spacecraft and barely anyone notices.
