thejesseb
Yep. Absolutely amazing. The fact that he will break the sound barrier is mind blowing.
Emo Revival
I'm terrified of heights so the fact that this dude is up 108,000 feet blows my mind, stoked to see the free fall though hudsoncomplex

Emo Revival
There is no other way to describe that than fucking nuts. Kudos to him to have the balls to do that. One of the craziest things I have ever seen.

thejesseb
did he break the sound barrier? So far yes but its unofficial. They have to check all the readings on his suit.

Guest
the time between 6500-5500 feet, and 5500-landing made no sense to me
natealcatraz
That was nerve wrecking to watch, but I teared up a bit through his freefall.
partysmasher
the time between 6500-5500 feet, and 5500-landing made no sense to me i thought so too, ages to go from 6500-5500 and no time from there to the ground.

Dillhole
just plain incredible. I haven't been that glued to the TV in a LONG time. I got the biggest chills as he's standing on that platform says "I'm going home now" and jumps. Last I read he hit 729 and did in fact break the sound barrier. littlebistro
I was hoping for video from his point of view. The whole infrared thing was kind of lame.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
quiet possibly the coolest thing I ever watched from start to finish
partysmasher
He topped out at just under 834mph. That is fucking crazy. There were cameras on his body that stored footage rather than transmitting it - the BBC are using it for a documentary that they've been making on this thing. I thought it was incredible, i don't know how much of this "research" line they're towing i believe, though, although NASA are apparently keen on being informed of the results, if they thought this sort of research was invaluable, wouldn't they be doing it on their own rather than skimming the results off a stunt put together by an energy drink? Either way, that was awesome, i can't wait to see this documentary. Red Bull's marketing in off the fucking scale!

NASA doesnt have the greatest trackrecord when it comes to spending money, im sure doing this was not high up on their budgetary list of things to do. If they're able to piggy back off a corporate sponsored stunt, and save a couple million dollars in the process, all the better. my understanding is they wanted to be able to get info from this incase they have shuttles in the future where man has to eject back to earth. bigbruise
very incredible indeed. But, I always found it odd that Red Bull supports all these crazy stunts and extreme sports, then sells a sugary drink that's terrible for your body. All that plus how do you think people would react if this was all paid for with tax payer dollars, cause I don't think that'd go over well. In this case they get all the data and stuff and didn't have to spend a dime of tax payer money, it's a win win for them.
