Wild though, went into the city today and a record store had the deluxe for $49.95. All up it cost me around $67Aud via the web. The bass is deep but not overwhelming, which I was worries about! Honestly I felt like I was hearing it for the first time! Digital doesn't do this album justice! You hear a lot more detail in vinyl (IMO) This is my favorite vinyl release this year so far! I'm terms of quality sound, packaging and solid album! (Previously missing from my collection) the consistency in art work is fantastic! I may have to pick up all the 12"s and 7"s for eraser just to have all the art!!! With the $31 bucks Nigel Godrich and by extension Radiohead and AFP still record to analogue tape. So that makes sense. Vinyl pressed from analogue tape is the highest fidelity form of playback you can get (IMO). I think it was on the recent NPR interview where Thom said he gets a kick out of seeing Nigel in the editing room surrounded by tape with a razor in his hand. I believe he said 7 were on reserve....so that leaves 4 that will be for the taking!
