If anybody's looking for a bunch of the aggro stuff (Avenged Sevenfold, Call of Duty pic disc, Between the Buried and Me box and LP, Cave In), or those ELP boxes, there's a ton of it down at Record Breakers. Reckless Loop still had a couple of those heart-shaped records too. For the first stop, I really liked how Reckless "took your orders", but on later visits when I was getting things for other folks, I really wanted to just take a quick look behind the counter to see what they actually had, instead of having to ask individually "Do you have his? What about this?".

Didn't get sigur ros. My buddy picked up the only dmb box.

Totally would've traded my Sigur Ros for a DMB box set, and laughed all the way to the bank.

It's pretty hit or miss there, but I acquired some pretty bodacious plants. There are ways to get in for 4 bones (as opposed to 10). Just check their website and Groupon and such. Apparently the one next month is the biggest, and probably will at least stop there.

Anyone know of a good bar to watch the Blackhawks? I had a good one in Lincoln Square, but the one in Bridgeport is tolerable at best.

$10 Presale Tickets for some great bands,

YEAH YEAH YEAH

Cold War Kids

Bush

Silversun Pickups

AWOLNATION

Atlas Genius

Interesting. They did a kickstarter last year for a festival and that failed. I think a lot of these acts are at summer fest that same weekend which is where I will be. First Midwest bank is high up there with the worst venues. That is a good price though, and while not really my style they are big names.

Two Cow Garage is playing at Beat Kitchen on Tuesday night. Come on out and support one of the many bands that "our friend through music" dicked over. And in case the alt-country thing doesn't do it for you, their new material is much more rocking. Check out their new 7" on Last Chance for a good example.

Watch the Duck has 2 shows this weekend:

Friday 5/10 9pm @ Bottom Lounge

$15

Saturday 5/11 9pm @ The Shrine

from wikipedia:

Watch The Duck is a three-member musical group from Atlanta, Georgia. They are part of the trapstep movement which is a cross between trap and dubstep. Some would also consider it to be Soulstep.

It's kind of an interesting sound, and they're pretty weird. I think it could be a cool show.

Three videos here:

EDIT: updated the venue info. I'll be going tomorrow to Bottom Lounge. anyone interested?
