BuzzersonKillwell
I use Spotify, current list has The Bloody Hollies, The Bronx, Rocket From The Crypt, The Giraffes, Doomriders, DFA1979 and some more straight ahead rock like QOTSA. Songs appreciated, but would looking into general artist recommendations as well. I run around 8:30 miles, so prefer tunes with a pretty good tempo. Genre unimportant. Thanks! P.S. If anyone is interested I can share my playlist. It is tailored for around a 5 or 6 mile run.

thebiglebowski
As far as workout music goes, there are two clear favorites for me -- Teenage Bottlerocket (Ramones - style pop punk) and Streetlight Manifesto (ska-punk). TB songs probably average 2 minutes and SM songs are about 6, but both have great tempo / energy.

Guest
HATEBREED! I'm dead serious. Songs about smashing enemies and overcoming obstacles with SICK FUCKING BREAKDOWNS? How can you not run super fucking good to it?

paranoidantroyd
"Jesus Built My Hot Rod" should be on every runners playlist.
BuzzersonKillwell
Good suggestions so far. So bands I've never heard, others I know pretty well. Trying to find something that fits from each artist suggested. Most of them have at least one addition. Keep 'em coming.

steventangent
No, don't listen to Death Cab For Cutie. That music is only good for crying over a plate of hot pockets. Go with A Shogun Named Marcus by Clutch instead. sinisterkidd and paranoidantroyd
BuzzersonKillwell
Added. I assumed you were joking before, or just REALLY bad at this.
steventangent
I used to put "the great decay" by cursive on my lists. So you're right, I might be bad at it. Haha.
videogamesandvinyl
Love the Hatebreed recommendation above. In the rare occurance I get a chance to use my treadmill or get out, I like to listen to Rise Against. The lyrics are pretty motivating and the music moves me along. BuzzersonKillwell
Yeah, there is some stuff in there. Opted not to bump it since this board felt more appropirate. Feel free to combine, though I've got what I need for today already. Also I'm trying for songs, not albums or artists, though I ain't got those yet. Shitty Rambo
I was more suggesting that you could add a couple songs per album to your Spotify library (assuming it's the same as Google Play Music).

codeine
I like running/biking to easycore/pop-punk stuff, likeFireworks - AIHTOIMOC, Bonfires, and Gospel.Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! - Something For Nothing.Stuff like that. I just put on an album or discography and listen from beginning to end. I love heavier stuff a lot of the time, but anything too heavy I find distracting. Easycore stuff helps keep the pace up, while still being able to focus on breathing. Really gets you going without wearing down on you. Any band with that type of sound would work. The Story So Far, or Set Your Goals - Mutiny! would probably also be good choices IMO. Shitty Rambo
Just listen to The Decline like 4 times in a row. I did that the other day.
BuzzersonKillwell
It was like 85 with 85% humidity so I only did four today. But enjoyed the list. Liked Streetlight Manifesto a lot more on the run than I did when I heard them for the first time today at work. Pop-punk is generally a non-starter for me so I tried I few but just irritated me mostly. Thanks everyone for contributing so far. I'll probably make another next.
