Any company you know of reviving production of cassette players?

Yeah, cassette players have gone out of style, not out of production. I'd recommend looking into something like this:

Cassettes are cool. Wish there was more love for them on this board.

I like that. "Cassette players have gone out of style, not out of production."

It's very true! I must admit I've never really been a big fan of tapes. I don't think they sound all that great and hate having to rewind/forward. I much prefer lifting up a tonearm, selecting what I want from an ipod, or just a simple CD track skip.

With that said, that Teac deck is badass.

Alright, I don't get it. Why do people collect cassette tapes?

I'll buy stuff on cassette if it's the only format it's released in.  It's far from my preferred format, obviously.  I picked up a Technics tape deck for $1.25 at a yard sale over the summer, and while it doesn't get much use, it's functional and that's all I was looking for.

Ahh okay. I haven't listened to a cassette in probably 15 years and I don't remember them sounding good at all. That's why I was wondering why anyone would collect them.

People collect them for a lot of the same reasons they collect vinyl but I guess the current run of cassette releases are a bit more exclusive.

But as with all media listen to it on crap equipment and it will sound crap and a crap recording on good equipment will still sound crap.
