I don't think they sound all that great and hate having to rewind/forward. I much prefer lifting up a tonearm, selecting what I want from an ipod, or just a simple CD track skip. Thrift shops, goodwills, salvation army's, you can find really nice, quality used decks for $10-$15 on the reg.My local Salvation Army had a Sony, JVC and Teac tape deck all in amazing shape just today. People collect them for a lot of the same reasons they collect vinyl but I guess the current run of cassette releases are a bit more exclusive. But as with all media listen to it on crap equipment and it will sound crap and a crap recording on good equipment will still sound crap.
