4 player 3D World will change your mind. There's this crown you get to wear if you have the most points at the end of the level, they somehow make it the most important thing you'll ever need in your life.

Sunshine is perfect to me solely because Delfino is such a great hub world. The Galaxy hubs were so disappointing. Sunshine also had fantastic levels, but you had to embrace FLUDD to enjoy the game. Too many people wrote it off because of FLUDD, same thing happened to Wind Waker. I'll also add I don't enjoy 2D Mario games nearly as much as the 3D ones if that isn't obvious from my list. 64 was my first Mario game.
