The BM points, I believe, can be used for a discount of sorts – I've yet to utilize them, and it's a pretty minimal saving, I'm sure.  But I guess it's something.  For what it's worth, I think I've ordered from TTL once or twice and had decent luck.  They've gotten me a few RSD-exclusives shortly after RSD, if I recall.  I have no qualms with them at all.  I just think BM is the cheaper option that I'm more familiar with.
 
Also, it's the little things.  I think the last CHVRCHES record changed the variant they were shipping to Bull Moose, and the newest Deafheaven album keeps getting pushed back.  In both instances, BM has been quick to send e-mails to communicate the changes to their customers, and reminded them that they're able to easily cancel their order if they weren't happy with the last-second developments.  That's night-and-day different than zero communication and restricting refunds to store credit, like another "label" / distro around these here parts.

And, yes; that last bit is fantastic news.  For as long as a lot of us have been waiting for this repress, I'd be pretty bummed if the sound quality was hit-and-miss (and took extra headaches to sort through), a la (  ).

I would argue there is no trend. They have a high success rate with pre-orders (100% from personal experience), and that speaks volumes. Customer service rocks. Prices are friendly. Returns are painless as well. Is that not enough?
 
I have absolutely no clue what "scene-points"/"punk-points" are, and I'm the one laughing at you for suggesting such nonsense.
 
I'm a bit perplexed how a vinyl enthusiast (don't you work at a distribution center, too?) can remain so clueless about who is arguably the leader (or one of) in online vinyl sales.

I splurged on the pic disc version.  Other than the Getty Images watermark over the photo of the band and the fact that the photo is actually of the band Alient Ant Farm, the execution is flawless and easily worth the extra $45.  Mine also came with a raffle ticket to win advance placement for the pre-order of the Johnny Bravo (tribute) DVD on Enjoy the Video Records.  The screen cap Ross posted of himself dressed as Johnny Bravo complete with the shades and black comb looks hilarious.  His lawyer friend makes an awesome grandma too.  Best day ever.

They got repressed because Hot Topic was pushing for it. I had been pushing to get those repressed for years. The band just didn't want to do any colored vinyl for anything other than AWKIF which I assume is due to the anniversary of that album which is why HT is the only retailer allowed to carry the splatter version with the bonus tracks.

Ace of Base doesn't want to be affiliated with anything black anyway.

What you all don't understand is that, the more you criticize ETR or this release, the more Stl Ben has to keep posting that he doesn't care and in fact benefits from it.

In theory, wouldn't that just up the resale value even more? Sure, only those with more extra cash can pick up multiples but there are still only 70 in existence.

I've been watching all the Paramore vinyl the past two weeks. I noticed Riot! Has been going for the most money-around 150 and up. Now this vinyl got pressed 8 years ago and there were only a few up from private sellers. Now all of the sudden, the price has completely plummeted to around $20 for a NEW riot vinyl, that got pressed in 2007. Three different shops have "more than 10 available" for the Riot vinyl. How is this probable and plausible that three different shops just happened to find a bunch of new copies of this vinyl that got pressed 8 years ago?

His prices on these aren't that great, especially when you consider he's gonna charge you to ship from the land of Hoseheads.I'm not gonna say it won't sellout but let's just say STL Ben and his cronies are at least gonna think twice about using this drop to feed their families ramen for a week.

Put it this way - the Back to the Future record Ben was flipping for $500 could have been bought at mondocon by someone who actually wanted it for a reasonable price. Instead, someone who doesn't appreciate or want it (Ben) is making $450ish just by having it in his possession before anyone else could get to it.

If this stops being fun and becomes too annoying or misleading for any of you guys at any time, just let me know and I'll stop posting as Mike at HT.  It seemed like some people were enjoying it which is why I'm continuing to do it.
