Oblivion - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
wiscodeman replied to wiscodeman's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I wish they would've done a more exciting color. Clear does look sweet in person, but I liked how they would kinda match a color to the artwork on the previous releases. I was hoping for a dark orange or purple.- 244 replies

Just showed up. No update for it in the order status on the SRC website either. Last update is from when the Sum 41 LP shipped. -

I just posted one 2 minutes before you. I'll delete mine, let's keep this one lol. How outrageous is the shipping? EDIT: I guess I can't delete my own thread.. I guess we'll have two til one gets deleted. -
PO: Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
wiscodeman replied to deafening's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I think Daft Punk will single-handedly bring back the 'coolness' of disco. Daft Punk is irrefutably a hugely influential/beloved electro act and that will show when you won't be able to escape hearing them all over the place once this drops. I love spinning my parents' old Bee Gees, Donna Summer, and CHIC records, so naturally, I'm beyond excited for this. -
The only times I specifically remember being bummed about being under 21 and not being able to go to a 21+ show is when Head Automatica played some tiny club in Madison and when Do Make Say Think played a bar in Milwaukee. Both happened while I was still in high school. Nothing I could do about it though. Just the price to pay for being into music that is focused more towards 'adult' crowds.

Just got the sub variant. This is a beautiful piece. Won't have time to spin it today, but I'm really looking forward to it. Good job SRC! -
Anthony has already scored a film. It's called Black Heaven. Haven't seen it. Heard it's terrible and he doesn't seem very fond of his work on it either. It's mostly songs from Before The Dawn Heals Us with a couple originals. I like the originals tracks as well as everything else, but I'm partial to anything associated with M83. Speaking of this soundtrack, does anyone have the full release? All I have from it is one track, but I'd like the rest. Preferably 320kbps mp3 or FLAC please! (not trying to hijack this thread, sorry)

I would believe that. I just told my friend if he just wants it to look at or frame or whatever, to try to get the RSD pic disc.

I have a black copy I'd consider selling to someone here who will get a better use out of it than to my friend who wants it because "it looks cool"... PM me please! Sold to the gentlemen below me. Thank you!

Justin deleted the "on sale now" tweet from twitter? Edit: Nevermind, it's back.

The boxset would be a little more appealing if it included a 7" of Trust Issues b/w Enemy.

Thanks for the link! I'm definitely going to jump on that. Sorry about that. It did cross my mind as I posted it. That's why I didn't just name the thread "Oblivion Soundtrack" haha.- 244 replies

So the score to this film is a collaboration between M83's Anthony Gonzalez and Joseph Trapanese (worked on the TRON: Legacy score with Daft Punk). The first track released called StarWaves is awesome. Have a listen: https://soundcloud.com/backlotmusic/starwaves-from-oblivion/ Here's a link to an article with the tracklist. http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/oblivion-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-from-universal-pictures-featuring-new-music-by-m83-set-for-release-on-april-9-2013-196050521.html I'm ecstatic for the release of this film and soundtrack, to say the least. The cd version is up for presale on Amazon, and I really hope they will press this on wax as well. Anyone as excited as I am??

Back to Iron Man 3.. I hope the "TDKR" feeling means the plot is going to involve darker themes such as Iron Man's decline into alcoholism like one of the story arcs in the comics. It'd be hard to portray that to a widely distributed family-oriented film, but the trailer shows flashes of him looking depressive/wasted/hungover/burnt out, so we'll see.
