  1. The Woodfield Mall(Schaumburg, IL)store has the same display and it is absolutely awful. There's no way the records aren't getting fucked up in that display. You also can't browse it because each bin only holds about 35 records but they have 50 crammed in each one. So you kind of have to look at the spines but some are obscured by the bin itself.
  2. I just got done listening to the podcast. It was recorded the day Robin Williams died so a couple weeks ago. I didn't hear Jeremy say anything about the splits compilation. Patrick says as soon as DW has the artwork for the collaborative 7" everything will get announced.
  3. They actually just tweeted a bit ago that they can't sell them tonight.
  4. One is a collector's item for those who want a physical copy of "the joke". The other is a convenient way to listen to music.
  5. It is 100% a gimmick but it's a gimmick with a purpose. It's a box set made up of all of the bands releases since "Never Mind the Bombings..." in 1 box set. From their first demo tape to their latest experimental EP they recorded in 2016. Except none of that is real. The digital version of the album is actually a terrible way to listen to it because its not technically an album. It's separate releases. Get it?
  6. Did anyone check out the iTunes version? The last track is nearly 40 minutes long. There has to be something......interesting there.
  7. Chase this Light is their weakest album. Static Prevails is my favorite album of all time. Not sure what that says about me as a person.
  8. Jason Tate has turned more people on to good music than anyone who has written in this thread. He doesn't seem to "get" why vinyl should or shouldn't be expensive but that doesn't make him some sort of monster. His heart is in the right place.....his head? Not always. But I think he's done more good than not.
  9. I had to listen to this album about 5 times but now the whole thing works for me. There was always something new I noticed that pulled me along to another listen.
  10. Chuck Daley runs Tiny Engines? Man, Chuck was always the coolest dude when I was working in College radio and he was working for Deep Elm. Cool to see he's still doing cool stuff in independent music.
  11. From 3 pages ago.... Ok, I listened to the podcast this morning and going off of info we've had for a few years I'm pretty sure this is how the release works. Its called The Next Four Years and will be available digitally(and I assume a download code will be included with the box set), CD, box set, and depending on demand a single LP. The box set is the album broken up into 2 7" and a repress of the cassette they sold on tour about a year ago. The 10" is what was supposed to be and possibly still is "Music for Interchanging Parts". One song broken up into many parts that can be played in any order and still make a coherent song. The 10" has forked grooves so wherever the needle lands is the version of the song you get to listen to. As part of the UN "gag" Geoff and others have said recently that UN released a bunch of music in other countries since they were "banned" form selling them in the US. I believe the "gimmick" of the box set is that this is all the unauthorized material bundled into one box.
  12. Just wanted to chime in and say that my Olive/Cream haze arrived yesterday also covered in a grime. Like a fine grit. Its inside the inner sleeve and on the record. I played side A and there was some noise in quiet parts but it seemed to play fine.
