I want to say you'd be fine skipping it, but it's also been 3-4 years since I watched all of them in a row. At a minimum, you should probably read the plot outline on wikipedia before starting 4 haha.

With the exception of Scream 3, the franchise is pretty solid. I feel like 4 rivals the original. Haven't seen the new one yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

Just saw the new Scream. I'm not super familiar with the franchise other than the original but I enjoyed it for what it was. The meta commentary and callbacks to the first were a nice touch.

The deluxe editions of #2 aren't out yet. Last update I saw was that supply chain issues had them waiting on the white inner sleeves.

Yellowjackets was great all the way through! I was watching it week to week and it very quickly became something I needed to watch as soon as I could. Adult Misty (Christina Ricci) is so awesome haha.
I haven't had much time for TV, but I'm looking forward to Station Eleven and Archive 81 whenever I get to them. I've also heard really good things about Anna.

It's an Italian post-apocalyptic pandemic mini-series. I think it flew under the radar completely

My order from Midtown arrived and holy shit did it do something to piss off a postal worker 😭
The package actually has a tear that goes all the way into a few pages of the comic itself. I’m guessing it got run over or caught in a sorter? YAY

Couple other versions:
Retailer Preview edition - this was sent out to retailers in advance, has a virgin cover.
Convention exclusives - I don't think there have been any yet, but I would expect some to pop up in the spring once conventions are up again, I think Image avoided all the shows over the last month.
It's also possible they may make some other crazy stuff Rosenberg gets creative with marketing. Looks like there is a CD for this book already, he has made tapes in the past. I have a script book he made for one of his comics as well.

Midtown comics exclusive variant. Different cover and on clear /200. Bit spendy, but that's kind of how store exclusives go in general.

Keep in mind there is a second pressing coming too.

Aren’t all movies 2-3 beer movies?

radiatorhums reacted to ScourgeOfWrath in Extreme Metal Releases and Pre-orders
Classic, mid-90's Swedish black metal album from Vinterland 'Welcome My Last Chapter' is being reissued on Black Lodge Records. Apparently, this version has been remastered by Dan Swanö at the same studio the album was recorded at over 25 years ago. Releasing February 4th on black vinyl, purple vinyl, and CD.
Available here (ships from Sweden): https://soundpollution.se/sv/component/virtuemart/results,1-24?keyword=blod164&limitstart=0&option=com_virtuemart&view=category&Itemid=614&_url=%2FBLOD164
Shipping to the US was very inexpensive and all together it came to about $30 total.

I had to skip back in a part because I thought I had full on missed a scene or two somehow, haha. Overall, I really liked it, but there does seems to be a gap in the story telling.

Finally watched new Candyman last night. I actually really enjoyed it. There were a couple things I was kind of confused about but maybe that’s because I kept trying to use the logic from the first movie? I don’t know. Either way though I thought it was great.

I have a couple of Tom Neely prints and OG art...as well as the Melvins box set he did. He's a great dude and super friendly.

Recommend The Humans as well, it's a lot of fun. Pulled out my floppies of it last weekend and started a re-read.

Didn't have much going on this weekend, so I put a small dent in my backlog.
There's Someone Inside Your House - Decent who-dunnit slasher, made for a good end of the week movie.
Kristy - Watched this because it takes place on Thanksgiving, but that's pretty arbitrary to the plot. Kind of a home invasion / slasher. I liked this quite a bit. The lead is great, it's paced well and it kept me interested the whole way through.
The Feast - This was good. A bit of a slow burn with a nice payoff.
Black Friday - This was dumb, but fun. It's exactly the type of movie you'd expect based on the plot synopsis and poster. Really fun Bruce Campbell performance! I did kind of lose interest at about the hour mark, but it's something that's easy to half watch.
Knocking - It was fine. I feel like I've seen enough movies that are similar that I'd kind of already knew how it was going to play out (and it pretty much played out how I thought it would).
Last Night in Soho - I really dug this.

While we're on the topic of Nadja tapes, there's a live tape with Thaumogenesis b/w The Bungled and the Botched. Each cover is hand painted.

Not horror, but genre-weirdness and the smartest thing I’ve seen in ages - absolutely check out Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes when you get the chance. It made my head spin a bit when it clicked what the director was doing and just how damn difficult it must have been to pull off. Absolutely wonderful.
