  1. Anyone else think this rolling back embargo on Cuba is ridiculous?  Are there any other countries us "free" citizens aren't allowed to travel to?  Because, correct me if I'm wrong, but travel to North Korea, the Sudan, China, and Saudi Arabia are all cool (pretty sure we're even alright to travel to Afghanistan and Iraq without issue), but Cuba isn't cool because of their history of civil rights abuse?

Im falling off the point by saying this next part, but seriously it really frustrates me that a party that has so proported themselves as being in favor of freedom and personal liberty has taken such a hardline against both.

Won box seats to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tomorrow night thru work

I just wanted to let you guys know, easily one of the top 5 shows I've ever seen.  I'm not really a Tom Petty fan, I just knew him from the radio and as Lucky from King of the Hill, but holy shit.

Dont skip on Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers if you get the chance, their live show is incredible.

Neither the Kathy Griffin thing or the covefe or whatever thing fucking matter. Like, at all.

Liberals seriously need to get their shit together.

Weird retribution for the right mocking Obama for the condiments he likes on his hamburgers?

The covefe thing was kind of funny tho.  Right or left, someone with such a huge twitter presence making such a dumb spelling mistake is humorous.  The conspiracy theorist in me wants to think it was a blatant attempt to draw attention away from drawing out of the Paris climate change agreement.

Quick edit to say, obviously the Kathy Griffin thing was over the line.  I'm all about satire, but it should probably be funny.  Or at least not really stupid.

Regarding last night's attack in Manchester:

Crowder is a loud mouth/button pusher most of the time, but he makes a decent argument. If most people here think religions themselves are regressive collectives, it's not an over-the-top point he's making.

Rambo, I think you've been making some great points recently.  And I think you make a great point posting this guys video, which I watched start to finish and mostly agreed with.

When I say mostly, I only mean --- "radical Islam" for me, it's a fucking cult.  It's just a cult.  It's no different that Children of God or Aum Shinrikyo.  Maybe ISIS or Al-Queda are better organized, but in the end theyre just the Manson family but in an area of the world that is more receptive to insane violence.

I don't hate Christians because of Children of God and I don't hate Muslims because of ISIS.  Off hand I think that religion is a farce and you're ridiculous if you follow it, but that shouldn't preclude you from being a part of society.

My point is that it just makes more sense to label these fringe religious groups as cults and get on with it.  Because there are a lot of innocent people in their world who are just looking for answers and obviously don't believe in Sharia Law or Acts or any other weird 2000 year old bullshit.

I wasn't being passive at all, I was busting your balls because it's silly for you to lean into disenfranchising a conversation you're not even participating in.

As far as your pro military peers go, are they joining because they want to, "kill radical Muslims,"? Because the last time we had a Republican in office I was around your age and that was the underlying reason my peers wanted to join the army, but with Iraq. I can't imagine kids these days think they same way or would feel a nationalistic drive to 'defend their country' especially when an event like 9/11 hasn't taken place to fuel that fire.

My brother joined the navy about 2 years back.  He and everyone else I know who entered a branch of the military did so because they wanted a steady job with decent pay and good benefits, but college wasn't for them.  So I think you're right, while there probably are some 'defend our country' - 'freedom isn't free' kinds of people out there, from my experience the people who are joining up just consider it a job, like how the rest of us think of our jobs.

I'd love to see Swimming by French Kicks get pressed. Criminally under rated LP.

I've been a huge fan of One Time Bells since it was released.  It was a Startime release but since Vagrant acquired them it would be great to finally see a pressing.

On that same note I'd also love to see a repress of The Walkmen - Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me is Gone

Well, as always, most art is left wing and attacked by the right wing...

Why wouldn't I be lefty? Hell, the right wing is attacking the arts everyday as we speak...and as conservatives have spoken out against death metal...yeah....nothing's shocking there.

But in the be all end all, there was no one who represented me in the last presidential election. As I stated before, I voted Bernie in the primary as he's the closest any candidate ever came to representing my beliefs.

As for the general, I knew that Donald Trump would be the worst president in the history of this nation. He's totally clueless in regards to policy, history, tax codes, etc.

He relied on fake news organizations to enter into the process to get him where he is. Then there's that Russian collusion, the obstruction of justice, the witness intimidation, and that's jut what he's done AS PRESIDENT.

Not to mention his misogyny, racism, nationalism, classism, support of wage slavery, attacks on education, etc etc.

But I cannot understand how anyone could be a fan of any art and be a conservative. It makes no sense to me.

    MEMES!

Dude, I'm not a Trump fan either, but this kind of lashed out accusatory rhetoric isn't helping anything.  It was annoying when the right was doing it to Obama the last 8 years and it's annoying when the left does it now.  So have a little class.

It's not life or death, it's not the end of the world, and Donald Trump is not an evil person.   He's just a billionaire playboy who, over the course of the last several decades, has proved himself to be a gigantic douchebag.  This doesn't make him evil, it makes him obnoxious.  There's a huge difference.

the best "humor" the dems can muster are predictable SNL sketches and the usual limp dick regurgitated commentary by the likes of john oliver, trevor noah, and steven colbert. all of which are mostly watched by the most boring people aged 25-45. it's a sad commentary when people with death metal avatars start nerd raging on behalf of status quo big government interventionist candidates like hillary clinton.

Waxxx, I'm not one to usually agree with you, but you're on point about the comedian news hosts being off their game lately.  Even if you said it in kind of an insulting way.  John Oliver has been floundering all season.  To be fair on Trevor Noah though, that guy was never funny so nothing has really changed.

Also, totally agreed on the last bit too.  I definitely voted Clinton, and I understood the push for her during the election over Trump - no one really wanted to say how flawed she was because we were running an election.  But ffs, it's over and we don't need to pretend like she's some savior anymore.  She represents establishment politics for a so-called "Left" that's really just a bunch of wealthy moderates.

wanted it to be accurate as possible.

That sounds sad.  Like, it's too big.  With a penis that size you'd never be able to bottom out with a woman, making sex just this uncomfortable awkward experience.  And the amount of blood it would take to get hard would make it nearly impossible to maintain an erection for more than a couple minutes.

What a sad lonely life for savior freak dick

Man, don't let anyone tell you you're not consistent.

  10. One of these days there will be a thread about Sorry About Tomorrow that ends with a release date.  You guys have gotten my hopes up way too many times now.

I just want to see what Saves the Day stuff is going to get repressed for this. (::cough:: In Reverie ::cough::) Hoping for a first press of Ups and Downs.

A pressing of Ups and Downs would be really cool, "Sell My Old Clothes, I'm Off to Heaven" is one of my favorite of their songs.  I'm sure this is discussed elsewhere on the forum but does Vagrant even have the distribution rights to In Reverie?
