  1. The extra must have been the shipping, right? And did that vary depending on where people lived?
  2. It was $50. Even that was ridiculous (although I totally bought it -- although I also had a ITR gift certificate, which helped).
  3. Pretty sure a lot of it has to do with what they can get the rights to, but I don't know that for a fact.
  4. Favorite band. My favorite of their albums. Pre-ordered and plan to go to the show. Good news all around. Amazon lists this as $37.98. I've seen single LP's try to charge that much. Edit: Here's the cover for the...covers album. Looks incredible.
  5. Yeah, they're one of the biggest bands in the country right now so a side project like this probably isn't going to set them back that much. I'm not saying you're wrong, and I have no clue how many they pressed, I just doubt it, that's all. I liked the album when I streamed it. Not sure I need a physical copy though. I actually prefer the funkier, groovier "Sound and Color" stuff as opposed to the more rockin' Shakes.
  6. Kinda curious -- what makes you think they didn't make that many?
  7. Where in Boston are you and what kind of music / record are you looking for specifically (or more of just a general "all hands on deck" kind of store)?
  8. Saw Kamasi live tonight. Incredible show. If he comes anywhere near you, I strongly recommend it. This might be hyperbole but he's the type of musician and performer that makes you feel like you're in the presence of a living legend.
  9. Finally! So psyched for this. That price is a lot better than what I was anticipating, too. I'm a bit surprised they squeezed all of this onto three albums, even with the reworked track list.
  10. Not gonna burn you, but honestly, nothing about the Replacements is generic.
  11. It's an album that nearly everyone wants and the pressing wasn't terribly huge and on a relatively small label. It's never been reissued since the year it came out (until now).
  12. I think I finally got my CC info straight, but now I'm not seeing the pre-older. Sold out or something else? EDIT: Looks like all the stores offering a pre-order have pulled it until Interscope can officially announce the album coming out with a press release. Weird.
  13. Those are the exact two I don't need, so I'd be up for doing this. PM me if you're interested.
  14. That's what I assumed. I'm having trouble ordering from Bullmoose for some reason. It keeps saying my CC and address don't match.
  15. Nice. That Bill Evans record is classic and the Sonny Sharrock is quite the trip and certainly worth it too.
  16. Awesome, I was just listening to the last album the other day. Good news.
  17. I don't have Stink or Hootenany. Only two I need. Argh. Not sure I want to pony up for that price though. Conflicted.
  18. It's that particular literary reference, that particular Shakespeare play, the hugeness and self-importance implied in the name itself. It's actually kind of perfect for them because the play is an over the top, bloody mess, huge in scope and ambition that doesn't always work.
  19. I just discovered the Rotary Connection. Really weird, wild stuff. Not all of it works, but when it does it's something else. Minnie Riperton's solo stuff has some great songs as well. I can't find any of her solo albums on vinyl though, which surprises me somewhat. Electric Mud is such a strange, incredible album.
  20. I feel like if you truly like them, you kinda have to just go with he fact that they're full of themselves to an incredible degree. I mean, any band the names themselves Titus Andronicus and uses the American Civil War as a metaphor for painful, personal toil has to sorta be full of themselves, right? To me, the amazing thing is that more often then not they pull it off.
  21. I don't think there are individual orders getting cancelled making a difference one way or another. Someone else said that certain suppliers were delayed in getting their copies and apparently Amazon was one of them. I was expecting to get mine the day the album was released and that day came and went with no word from Amazon at all (which is why I cancelled it). Happy for whoever posted the link to the cheaper option anyway.
  22. Damn it, I just canceled mine yesterday and ordered it elsewhere. Fucking Amazon. Way to communicate what's going on promptly.
