So I'm moving to Japan and I'm clearing out a HUGE chunk of my collection (it'll cost too much to ship there). I have everything from Industrial music (NIN, Ministry, RevCo, etc) all the way to 80's synth pop. My Option 30 7" came in REALLY fast.....lots of surface noise at first but then it quiets down when the songs start. Sadly one of the labels look like it didnt adhere to the record all the way and its lifting pretty badly 






 

oh so it's been out for a while.....interesting. Well, I'll report back on the sound once I get my copy. For $15, I couldn't pass it up  

Looks like someone finally pressed the Option 30 material to a bootleg 7". I just picked up a copy on eBay for $14.99 and it looks like a few other copies are up for sale by other sellers. Jump on this while you can as I'm sure this was a limited run and NIN fans will be drooling over this (even if its sourced from Mp3s) 

My bootleg copy of The Crow soundtrack sounds like shit and has pops/cracks throughout almost all of the songs. It was a major let down but then Lost Highway came in and saved my opinion on buying bootlegs. I think I have a few U2 boots as well as Depeche Mode and all of them sound decent to good.....

I say go for a bootleg if the price is right or the OG press is insanely expensive

I'm in the same boat as hxcoliver, I'm totally willing to drop $20-60 for a bootleg that sounds good in place of the original pressing if the the price will save me a couple hundred dollars. Case in point, see below....

The OG press usually goes for $250-400. Fuck that. I just bought a bootleg that sounds awesome for $35 AND it came on colored wax....

Got my hands on this copy FINALLY. I bought one of the last ones during the recent batch and I have to say that for a bootleg, this thing sounds fantastic. The bass is solid and not muddy which is something I usually find with bootleg records. If you had any reservations about picking this up, forget about them and drop the $35.

Even the record labels are crystal clear. I'm used to them being super blurry on bootlegs!

Got mine as well. Sadly mine came with a huge crease in the jacket Also, the jacket is made with very flimsy cardboard which was also surprising. 

Not really vinyl related (Well, it does promote the release of the 2x LPs!), but I finally  got my promo posters framed!

Does that Manson record have a corner notch?

Yup, I bought it from one of the employees that works at ESR. He used to work for Interscope back in the day and said he got this for free before the album came out. We got to talking and as it turns out he has a bunch of stuff on vinyl from the late 90's early 2000's that he might unload here soon. I asked him to let me know what other manson and NIN items he has and he said I could have first pick.

Damn I saw mechanical animals for $50 at welfare records in Haverhill, MA a few months ago. Was tempted to buy it but didn't pull the trigger. Really wish I did. But that day I ended up with Hell-o by GWAR on red vinyl and 2pac greatest hits for $85 total so my wallet was hurting a bit anyway.

 

$50 is pretty cheap for an opened copy. I got mine for $65 about a year ago and its still in its original plastic wrap. The 2012 re-release really brought the price down on this album for a while but now its slowly starting to creep back up since that re-release was limited as well.

Well holy shit, the asking prices are waaaaaaay back up there again. If you look at the buying history you can see someone scored BIG TIME last month: Last sold on 01/04/2015 for $28.31

 

You can also try and ask this guy to sell you his SV pressing for $50-60  

Today's purchases from Easy Street Records.....living two minutes away from this record shop is going to become VERY dangerous for me.

And then I passed on this damn near mint condition Bowie record.....

and they have this original 2003 MBV record.....I dont know much about this band but If memory serves me correctly, didn't someone in here just buy a bootleg copy of this same album?

I ended up filing a complaint with paypal and got my money refunded.....if you're unhappy with the purchase I advise you do the same.

EasyStreetRecords in West Seattle bought a SEALED box of Nirvana LPs from an Exec. that used to work for Geffen Records. There were 8 copies of In Utero that are pressed on clear vinyl which are still sealed and 6 copies of Nevermind with the gold promo stamp. None of these have ever seen the head of a needle and I can safely say that this copy of Nevermind is the mintiest copy you will ever find.

YES!!! My copy of Lost Themes by John Carpenter came in today!!! You guys SERIOUSLY need to pick this LP up, its AMAZINGLY good.....I can't stop listening to it. (I'm pretty sure the code has been used but still feel free to try and snag it just in case it hasnt)
