  2. *cough* retrospectively given the tag of "EP" actually released and marketed as a mini-album *cough*
  3. You're welcome, but beware of the issue I found on Everything's Ruined. I should find out Monday of it's the specific copy I received today or all of them. I hope it's just mine. The problem effects less than a second,m but it still shouldn't happen.
  4. I prefer the "cooler version" which you already have as part of the Das Schutzenfest single, but if you're after a copy particularly on vinyl, one of the two 12" version would be a good bet. Avoid the red 7". I own three copies and all sound awful. If you can order from Amazon.co.uk, you might want to just pick up a UK or European copy of Angel Dust for a couple of quid. It's the 14th track on that. Or you can just listen to this clip (hopefully you're not region blocked): http://youtu.be/jd04y-Lmoc4 No synths, vocal introduction. Used by London Records in UK, Europe, Brazil, Japan and Australia (Australia also had the album released by liberation, the Liberation copies used the US/German "cooler version" with synths and no vocal introduction).
  5. Today I played the original 828321-1 UK pressing followed by the GZ unofficial pressing (which wasnl;t as bad as I remembered it and then the new repress on blue. I got the dEUS reissues which are said to be pressed by Record Industry, who also press the Music On Vinyl releases. i thought the dEUS records were good but slightly flat and preferred the CDs so I put the MOV blue vinyl on with those suspicions looming large. i was prepared to hate it. I really was. To be honest I'm completely surprised by the sound quality, it seems an immediate return to form for them as Record Industry were my favourite plant prior to the dEUS reissues. In my personal opinion this is a better sounding record than the original LP and takes a huge dump on the GZ unofficial release. As for the Mobile Fidelity, I love the records, the package but don;t like the mix. Mofi made a very decent sounding pressing so I'd say if you prefer the slightly higher pitch, prefer the toned down guitar and the increased vocal volume then you won;t need this version. I can't fault the pressing other than the front and rear sleeve source image has been saturated to such a terrible degree and tbh it's the last thing I care about. MOV have been wise to ensure this went on 2xLPs as if they tried to cram too much on each record, the sound would have suffered, particularly towards the end of each side. I've tried to listen for any bleeding which can come from this problem and the thing is sweet as pie. I'm not sure how the black vinyl version will sound, but that's the copy I actually wanted. Hopefully it will arrive from Amazon on Monday otherwise I'll have to sell a duplicate blue copy. ***EDIT: And it's the very first copy to get a full tracklisting. Mofi obviously omitted Easy as did most of the world, but the original European copies dropped Crack Hitler and Midnight Cowboy and were only available as a 45rpm 122 single with the limited edition, in Korea Caffeine, RV and Crack Hitler were dropped, in Russia (bootleg) RV, Malpractice, Crack Hitler and in Columbia there was another configuration again*** Anyway. I love the pressing. I just hope that I'm not alone in my opinion. ***Edit*** I just noticed a potentially serious issue. After the first chorus of Everything's Ruined there's a sound anomaly that sounds like sudden wow or a wobble but I can't see anything wrong with the groove. It's very noticeable. When you guys get your copies, please let me know if your copies have the same issue. It's roughly a third into the track during a piano part.***
  6. I bought an original copy of Manic Street Preacher Everything Must Go on vinyl once and the seller (ebay) sent it to me wrapped in newspaper and just taped where the things overlapped. It arrived on a wet day and was ruined. The seller said I was over reacting when I gave him both barrels in the email complaint which followed. Death of vinyl by negligence should be punishable by punching in the throat.
  7. We just moved the thing to another link due to me duplicating the release: http://www.discogs.com/release/4671466 No, I never order from soundstage as I'm in the UK. Iused What. http://www.whatrecords.co.uk/items/58540.htm 19.99 + 4.80 1st class recorded (within the UK). Edit: Here's a very very rough comparison of the rear sleeves. I didn;t want to compare them all, but you'll see that the over-saturation of the MOV copy is berserk.
  8. I got my blue vinyl this morning. i submitted it to Discogs with a full set of sleeve scans and photographs: http://www.discogs.com/Faith-No-More-Angel-Dust/release/4675454
  9. Sorry for the (very) late reply. It's not more annoying that taking a record out of its poly sleeve, then out of it's picture sleeve, then out of it's inner sleeve and then putting it on the platter. You simply puck up the platter and move the band to the correct gear. It takes a couple of seconds with just one hand. It's part of the ritual, and I love the ritual of playing records.
  10. I use a Rega P3 turntable with the Cambridge Audio pre-amp. Functionality and sound is wonderful.
  11. My listening equipment is modest but as follows: Turntable: Rega Planar 3 with a simple Bias 2 cartridge (hated the Goldring 2100). Pre Amp: Cambridge Audio 640p. Minidisc: Sony JB930. CD/DVD: Denon DVP-1940. Amplifier: Onkyo TX-SR506. Stereo Speakers: Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 (Rosewood). Subwoofer: Epos ELS-Sub. Centre: Tangent Rear Left and Right: JPW Millenium 510. Portable Minidisc: MZ-RH1. Headphones: AKG K 451 and and old pair of trusty Beyerdynamic DT-231s.
  12. Whoever buys it, I'd give 50/50 odds that there's nothing wrong with it. I used to have records that skipped a lot, then a bought a decent turntable (mid range, not high end and the standard cart) and never had a skip since.
  13. I'm glad you picked up the standard issue.
  14. I like the vinyl, I like that it sounds better than the counterfeit. Allegedly it was pressed by the plant responsible for Music On Vinyl, if so it's unfortunate as it doesn't stand up well compared to the original LP or the CD and I've loved CBS/Sony Harlem / Record Industry (Music On Vinyl) for years. The matrices do suggest that the Dutch plant were responsible for this and the other underwhelming reissues that came out with it.
  15. You're right, it will be. I have a ton of experience with Amazon and their listing pages and it's first come first served with no notice about which version they will send.
  16. The clip does something you can't do. it plays the versions in quick succession which I felt would assist you since there is a difference and you could not discern it. There's no need to be so defensive. I was attempting to help you.
  17. I find the pressing mofi pressing to be dynamic, but prefer the original. The Double LP you have contains the 828 321-1 original LP by George Peckham (Porky in the matrix). It's a damned curse.
  18. 180gram marketing shittyness must end. It's meaningless.

      Yeah, I prefer dynaflex.

You may or may not be joking about that, but I'd take the Bowie dynaflex issues over some of the 180 gram stuff that's been made out in California in recent times in a heartbeat.

  19. The pitch is increased, the guitars turned down, the vocals turned up. I prefer the origina 828 321-1 UK copy mastered by George Peckham (Note my username matches this number). I currently own 48 different copies of the album. Music On Vinyl usually do a bang up job. They;re the old CBS Harlem plant in the Netherlands which was owned by Sony. Same staff, same equipment. Good people. Easy was never part of the album on USA and Canada. Only "London Records" copies included the tracks when it was reissued on 29th january 1993.(UK, Australia, Europe, Japan, Brasil). It never saw an initial vinyl release in the USA. It was remastered by Mofi in 2008 and released there but they made the album a bit more "friendly". Not to my taste.
  20. JBL and Cole show. Bryan's comedy does not stop him performing in the ring,. which is good. Santino conflated his in-ring persona too much with his comeday character which has killed him from ever getting over or moving up in the company. In order for him to succeed outside of comedy, Santino would need to have a dramatic shift and focus in order for it to beleived. That's not happening.
  21. I'd still pay the extra to get the Rega P3, after all you're going to be stuck with it for years, the extra cash for a quieter and better motor and a a weightier platter. After going with my P3, I'd not be able to go back to a Pro-ject budget deck.
  22. Bare in mind if it doesn't happen with the majority of records, it could be that the record itself is the problem. A bunch of Plain Recordings records have this issue when they try to cram 3 months of music on each side.
