Thanks to this thread I picked up both of these definitive editions as well. I would agree with your description of the differences w/ TDS.

Can anyone who has TDS Back to Black and the Definitive Edition compare sound quality? Also, does TDS definitive come with an essay/booklet like broken does. I saw scans of the broken essay all over and after picking it up can say that was worth the price of admission, so I'm wondering if TDS and the Fragile got the same treatment and if the liner notes etc are as extensive.

Any idea what to expect at retail tomorrow? White? Red? Or just plain black. Plan to pick up locally. -
PO Now: Wolf Alice - 'Visions of a Life' (Sept-29)

Just got the same notification . If there's actually not a 7" I'm inclined to cancel and just pick up the indie version locally this weekend. -
I agree, but those were available in stores for a little while as well. I wish they'd just be clear on this. If they weren't charging $12 for shipping it might be different but come on, you can't blame us for wanting to avoid that nonsense.

Finally got my NTAE in the mail. Mailer was trashed, actual record and sleeve seems to be in surprisingly great shape. I really want to get broken and the Fragile now but after all the bad experiences, could I even expect them to ship in a reasonable fashion? Anyone who has ordered recently want to update me on their experience?

Like a typical PJ whiner, I'm totally going to get this but really wish they'd actually unearth some shows from the Vault that haven't been widely in circulation for years. The last couple of releases feel like they're trying to get back their market share from the unofficial bootlegs that are out there. No Code era show please!

Sorry to bring up old stuff, but has there been any talk of repressing Friday the 13th Pt 2 and 3 at all? Playing the video game has me regretting not grabbing these when they were available.. -
Chris Cornell (1964-2017)
negavinyl replied to THE_James_Champ's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Ugh, the worst part about this latest wrinkle is we'll never know yeah? Sure they can find Ativan in his system, it doesn't sound like that's in dispute. But can we know if that's what caused him to do it? Was he perhaps contemplating it and this fucked him up and lowered his inhibitions to go through with it? His actions don't sound like a man about to say goodbye to the world. Suicide is usually planned out far in advance, choosing the time and place long before the act finally takes place. Been thinking about that a lot. Did he choose Detroit as his final night on purpose? The "In My Time of Dying" tag on Slaves and Bulldozers (performed all tour long btw) as a haunting message? And now this. Maybe he's just altered, perhaps in a bad spot prior to this, and just goes through with it? If it helps the family to believe that, I don't blame them one bit. Just awful. -

Fantastic pics. I was supposed to see Soundgarden tomorrow at Rock on the Range, otherwise I would have driven to Detroit for the show there. The Fox is an amazing venue. I don't know if seeing that performance would have made it better or worse though. Thankful I got to see Soundgarden many times. -

Anybody see them on this tour and know what they have at the merch table vinyl wise? Seeing them at Ace of Cups in Columbus Sunday. Very excite. -

Metallica Repress under Blackened Recordings

Well what sent me on the path to getting a good copy of TBA is I bought a second OG copy of AJFA this week at a local shop. I had a good play copy that had a busted jacket, as in someone had written their name on it, drew faces and extra facial hair on the band member photos etc. Jacket on the 2nd copy is VG+ and by combining the best quality LP's from the two I had, I now have a great copy of AJFA, minimal surface noise, it sounds fantastic. So TBA was the next frontier. -

Side note: do want that POAAF SV. I have the hot topic version. Well if the Blackened pressing is really that good maybe that's the easiest play. Anyone else want to weigh in on Warner Bros 08 vs Blackened repress on TBA? -

Damn, strong endorsement there. Tough decision on that one then, could easily get the repress locally. Discogs isn't too bad on the 2008 pressing. -

Reviews on that Blackened repress on discogs vary greatly. Lots of people happy and some others saying they had skips right out of the gate. Maybe it was just the first run? -

So I'm pretty close to completing my Metallica vinyl collection with OG's, or should I say, vintage, not the recent represses, of all the main studio albums. I still need Reload and the Black album. Looking at all the version of the Black album is daunting and some of them are more than I'd care to spend. Does anyone have any experience with the 2008 Warner repress? -

So before I actually had my son, I was really worried about him messing my records up. Now that I have him, when I think about him being mobile I mostly worry about him somehow pulling my Expedit that is completely full of records over and on to him somehow. I can't secure it to the wall due to the crown molding in our living room, there's just too much clearance, plus plaster walls. I don't have another room that can house this large shelf. Anyone had any issues or scares with something like that? Or is this just new Dad paranoia?
