  1. Not saying it's right or anything, but I imagine this type of release is similar to an auto repair bill and breaks down like this: ---------------------------------------- Record........... $15.00 Labor.............. $85.00 TOTAL............ $100.00 ----------------------------------------
  2. I'd say it's more like the "hype sticker on the sleeve."
  3. You should look into the new KALLAX coffins from IKEA. Not as much outer limb protection as the old EXPEDIT coffins, but I doubt you (or your vinyl) will notice.
  4. Attn: half the people in this thread... your kids are not going to care about or want you
  5. I only buy used records specifically so I don't have to deal with these complexities.
  6. But if you were to conveniently expire at the same time, the butler would get everything!!
  7. Apologies in advance for this being a little morbid, but I was genuinely curious what people plan to do with their records when they die. I tried my best to search past topics and there doesn't appear to be an existing thread about it. Do you plan to sell them off beforehand? Leave them to family in your will? Have them buried with you? Nothing at all? (I'm sure the vast majority of our records are going to end up posted on Craigslist, given away to some charity shop, thrown in a dumpster or sold off in some large, horribly underpriced lot to the nearest second-hand store regardless of what we'd like to have happen...)
  8. I'm guessing Lou was just miffed J caught a Pikachu before he did. Once he realized Squirtle is cuter, anyway, he calmed right down.
  9. Anything good that's left is in Brooklyn. You can hit five or so good shops all within a few blocks in Greenpoint. Take the E to the G. It'll take you 30 minutes. Go to Record Grouch for sure.
  10. I really don't get how that artwork is NSFW, looks fine to me! Anyway, got to get back to restocking these dildos and gimp masks. My boss has been on me all day about reorganizing....
  11. I think maybe he just needs to blow on the grooves and try re-inserting into the turntable a few times.
  12. What I always find amusing is those are exactly the kind of shirts that will be slashed to $1.99 at the local pop culture emporium/mall kiosk in 12-18 months.
  13. Thanks - I had looked on Discogs a while back and felt that there was a lot of stuff missing (since I guess it's up to the submitter to make sure they associate it to Newbury Comics when submitting the listing) but maybe it's gotten better. Still think it's weird the store itself doesn't have a guide to what they've released, considering they make such a big deal about their exclusives variants when they're first up for preorder.
  14. So is there someway to see all the Newbury Comics variants on one page on their site, including the sold out stuff? They seem to hide the sold out releases once they're no longer available.
  15. Back in stock at Turntable Lab for $89.95 if anyone's still looking for this... https://www.turntablelab.com/products/lush-origami-colored-vinyl-vinyl-5lp-boxset-record-store-day
  16. Dude, you know guys named Gene think of nothing BUT penis-shaped tone arms.
  17. I know what you mean. I've always considered babies to be society's greatest sociopaths.
  18. That's because it doesn't start until next year. On Showtime or something. I think they named it after the band.
