  1. In Japan, they have vinyl pleasure bots to perform such mundane tasks as this...
  2. I prefer to think of myself as the Zika virus that's slowly malforming the record "industry".
  3. If it was still under Lucas control there'd be 10,000, they'd cost $50 and they'd feature Jar Jar's die-cut head so count your blessings!
  4. If you leave it in the microwave for 30 minutes, it sets off a full nuclear reaction and goes supernova. Surprised Jack White didn't think of that first.
  5. The worst part is John F Kennedy was assisinated way before 1978, so you know the signature's fake.
  6. I thought they pulled the Victoria Sponge off the market. There was a whole Seinfeld about it...
  7. I can't tell if you're being saractastic, but I think the homage is totally intentional.
  8. Keep in mind it's a BBC article, as well. I can't quite tell for sure but I'm guessing these are UK figures. Remember, vinyl never completely "died" in the UK as badly as it did in the US. Even at its lowest, you could still walk into HMV and see some 7" singles in the charts section or whatever. I bet if it was a US-based poll, the amount of vinyl owners without a turntable would be 30% or more.
  9. What's even weirder: 7% of people who have turntables don't own any records.
  10. They should probably clarify that it comes with a cat. Some people might be a little unprepared for that.
  11. I think the film was amazing but as thesewoodenideas states it's more of an art piece than a true documentary. You're certainly not going to learn much about the atomic bomb or Cold War watching it, but if you already know about these things it's a really interesting collection of footage put together in an interesting manner and the music just makes the film. And rabbitvinyl - that first track is just amazing in the film. The visuals are the story of birth/death or maybe more appropriately growth/decay, but not knowing what to think going into the viewing, that was such a moving opening both visually and sonically that I was hooked. Probably the best part of the documentary.
  12. I doubt either of these will be too hard to get. The album covers thing is just a fold-out and those always seem to last forever, and since the Mould thing is both A a CD and B released by Merge, who usually manage pressing quantities well, I think it'll stick around. On a related note, this year's RSD bag looks killer!
  13. Pinkerton was a classic case of suffering by not sounding like the Blue Album. People wanted more "Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly" so they didn't give it a fair shake.
  14. joeybuckets, you should sell each color slice individually and make three times the profits.
  15. What did he take offense to? I'd say that article sums up my feelings on their back catalog almost 100%.
