  1. You guys are talking off-(hot)topic. pun intended. What's the word on the HT exclusives? Haven't heard from Travis in a while about these.
  2. Agreed as well. Love how much more aggressive it sounds. Very happy that I got a copy of this.
  3. Sure wish they'd ship out my clear w/ smoke. Can't wait to hear it.
  4. I'm kind of curious as to how the BF release of STP Core sounds compared to the recent MOV release. Can anybody give a review of that? I managed to get In Utero for 38 bucks and the Civil Wars EP, but the store I went to was sold out of Core by the time I showed up.
  5. I love that self-titled Clutch album, you still got that sealed up? I'd buy it if the price was right. I don't spend crazy dollars on any single album though so I'm guessing not. I've heard of Nothingface but honestly don't think I ever listened to them before. Maybe I oughta check them out.
  6. I'd love to hear a copy of it that sounds fine. I can't assume you guys are deaf at all, I'm sure you're not actually. Because, yes, if your copies were bad, it's impossible to not hear the distortion. Some people have said that certain TTs and/or carts can make the difference. I believe the issue is that the press was done way too close to the center label so theoretically if you have the right combo of TT and cart, maybe it handles the very tight rotations that close to the center. You shouldn't need special equipment though to play a certain record. dreamover made a very good point about Zero sounding great on the Aeroplane box. I haven't picked that one up yet, but that'll definitely be a bonus I hadn't previously thought about. Do any of you that say you don't notice any problem on your MCIS disc 1 also have Oceania? I straight up sold that record because the distortion also became increasingly noticeable on ALL sides of that 2xLP release, from my perspective, ruining the sound on the last song of each side. Also, I love the Oceania album. Cannot wait to hear what else Billy and company have in store for the future.
  7. Oh, I get it now. Never read that or maybe I did but couldn't recall that exact statement. LOL My thoughts on it: He's making excuses for it. Must feel pretty shitty to spend your life and have so much experience just to put out a shitty product. Not a lot of sympathy. I find it very hard to believe that, given the opportunity, someone else wouldn't be able to rework it and fix the issues. The issues are there. No one can deny that or try to tell me I'm wrong. It's actually not a big deal to me to the point that I don't want to own it anymore. That's not to say that I'm able to look past it and still enjoy Zero and To Forgive when I listen to this vinyl release. It'll be painful every time, but I also have digital copies and CDs if I want to listen to those songs in their true glory. The rest of the MCIS boxset is great honestly. The rest of the songs are fine from my point of view and the I think the inserts and box were done well. I haven't been on the forums constantly complaining about it, it's just that I saw someone try to say that the quality of those 2 songs being so crappy is an exaggeration urks me a little. Mostly because I don't understand how someone could possibly not hear how horrible it sounds. Can't help myself to call them folks out.
  8. I'm wondering how much longer the wait is going to be on the clear w/ black smoke SRC variant. Excited about owning this on vinyl. Great album.
  9. Agreed. To Forgive may even be the more tragic of the 2, given the fact that it's a much more mellow song. I happen to think that causes it to be even more noticeable.
  10. You'd have to have something wrong with your ears to make a statement like this. It's horribly distorted and that's not an exaggeration. The only other album that I've heard with IGD just as bad is coincidentally the Oceania vinyl. Both of those pressing were clearly done with very little care.
  11. Run tell dat! I got Hybrid Theory on RSD too and my copy sounds fantastic. Also one of my best sounding records.
  12. Couldn't agree more. I'll gladly pay $40 bucks for a brand new original, personally inspected by the frontman of the band, over hundreds of dollars. To me, no record is worth that much, regardless of how rare it is.
  13. Oops, forgot to include the link to the website. http://www.earthanalogrecords.com/hum-vinyl/
  14. My advice: Check this website on the daily. Matt Talbot, Hum's singer/guitarist, does random sales of Hum LPs. He had run into a mess of You'd Prefer an Astronaut and Electra 2000 LPs a while back. He has to inspect each one of them that he sells and uses a vinyl-flat machine in cases of a warp. I've been hounding on this for month's trying to catch a sale so I can finally own a copy of Electra. Downward is Heavenward is going to be much more difficult and expensive if you're looking for vinyl. Not sure about cassettes. I've conceded to just wait until the day it gets a reissue (really hope that happens). Otherwise, you're looking at a $100+ investment on an original in good shape.
  15. Sorry guys, that really does suck. I feel somewhat responsible because I'm the one that posted that they had it up for pre-order. I hope you don't end up getting screwed on the deal.
  16. Does your order confirmation give a product number? Each of those are different so I would think you'd be able to tell which one you're in for. When I noticed they had it available there was only 1 item for it and it was the purple one.
  17. I've seen trashed LPs made into coasters. Pretty neat idea.
  18. There are a ton of people looking forward to this. I'm on the side though that just can't get into this album. I LOVE the concept of the album and I really LOVE the sound stage it has but I just can't get into the music itself. I'm happy for all those that have a chance to finally get this for less than hundreds of dollars though.
  19. i have a friend that is really looking forward to this. sent me an email today saying that he stopped by his local record store to get them to order one in and they didn't have it available to order in. even though amazon says 11/12, i'm not so sure i'd believe even that.
  20. box full of 45s. sold 3 for 400. nice. what happened to the rest of them that didn't sell?
