  1. Went ahead and splurged some of my financial aid money...I got more stuff on it's way, and will post pics as they arrive.
  2. I like buttons...I put them on my guitar straps...
  3. Does anyone know the pressing info on these new 7-inches? I have it on purple, green, and orange, and was wondering what the numbers were. Great EP, a tour would be wicked!
  4. I went into HT last Friday after killing 2 liters at Dunderbaks, opened the new Me First LPs to check if they had a blue I could flip (sorta kidding), but they were black. I also swiped some lame comb-in green hair dye for fun. I then asked the employee if he knew whether or not the new live NOFX 2xLP that was 14 feet up on the wall was on color and he said "I think it's on black, but it comes with the CD"...I started laughing and walked out. The only thing HT is good for is the rad hot chicks that work/shop there. I actually saw one of these rad chicks with her mom at Dunderbaks during lunch, and she had a Fear tanktop on...who knows if she knew it was a band shirt...she was smoking though, so who cares?
  5. Yeah...I love the Souls, but I agree with this statement. I never really got past "Summer Vacation" as far as studio stuff either, but it was an enjoyable album.
  6. 1982 was the year... Bad Brains "s/t" ROIR tape...hands down Honorable Mentions: MDC - "Millions of Dead Cops" LP...we all know John Wayne was a nazi Good call on "Milo Goes To College" too! I will put Musical Youth's "The Youth of Today" in the running as well.
  7. The scary movies stopped being funny when the Wayans brothers left...then they fucked up and made White Chicks, but you can't hate 'em for knowing what they had to do to make some loot. There were some really cheesy, yet slightly funny, scenes in Scary Movie 4, but I haven't sat through it all at once, I just catch pieces of it while flipping through channels before I give up and go listen to records. Best parody movie EVER: Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In the Hood
  8. great band name...the first 7-inch could have some sort of reference to the placenta in the title...
  9. Yeah, the Kaoss pad is an fx processor with a touch pad that can modulate/manipulate an audio signal (turntable/cd player, guitar, microphone, etc.) based on which effect is selected. Turn a knob to a flange, and you control the flange (or at least one of it's parameters) via the touchpad...same with delay and sampling etc. A friend of mine bought a Numark DJ mixer that had a built in Kaoss pad, which is where my experience with it comes from. They are fun little gadgets to say the least. "For those poor souls unacquainted with the essential features of the Korg Kaoss pad, it's basically a two-dimensional ribbon controller which enables tactile pressure placed on a plastic surface to modulate and effect an incoming stereo signal. The pad is divided into four quadrants with tasteful, coloured back-lighting. Each quadrant is evenly placed around the X-Y axis of a cross. By applying finger pressure into different axis lines on the pad, individual or groups of parameters can be varied - simple but bloody effective." The Kaossilator is an audio generator that works on the touchpad principle, but more like an instrument as opposed to a fx processor. I can't believe I didn't think about combining the two, but I guess at that point I would want to play with an analog synthesizer to get all the weird sounds I hear in my head with more room to make it sound even stranger. Heed the advice of playing with one at Guitar Center, and if you like it enough take it home. If you get sick of it within 30 days, or just get your fill, take it back.
  10. +1...but I myself am also guilty...other than vinyl, I "collect/accumulate" vintage musical equipment. Nothing too crazy, mostly late 60's-70's era stuff (more in the 70's though), and nothing too rare or ridiculously valuable. - Fender Jazz basses 1974 (black), and 1975 (no finish) - Acoustic Control Corporation bass amplifiers and cabinets...including an Acoustic 360 preamp (like Larry Graham, Jaco, and John Paul Jones used to use...along with countless others) which is in need of the maching cabinet with built-in power amp, but that's ok for now. I love the tone I get from this stuff on bass, so I picked up some back ups in case things break, or just stop working...yeah, I have all of the stuff pictured except the misc stuff in the 2nd picture, just the amp/cab pair and the 18" speakers on the floor in front of them. The Roland Space echo is waaaayyy fun too!
  11. I am a full-time student at the University of South Florida in Tampa (aka USF aka U Stay Forever) majoring in electrical engineering with an I-only-need-one-more-class-but-probably-won't-finish-it minor in electronic music (think Cage/Stockhausen rather than Oakenfold/Tiesto). I am also a few classes away from a math minor, but in order to be done by the end of 2010, I have to stick to the engineering courses...and hopefully pass them. : I also work at Office Depot on the weekends as a technology salesperson/general do-boy for a whopping $8.24 an hour, hence I refuse to speak Spanish seeing as how it is a skill that should warrant a minimum of $10/hr. I also consider myself a semi-professional musician...whatever that means nowadays.
  12. 90-91 was the Bills first trip to the Bowl, yours was 88-89. You can't feel too bad about it though...you were up against one of the greatest quarterback/receiver combos in the history of football. At least you didn't go out like the broncos did in 89-90
  13. Terabytes in the $115 range on ebay...nice! http://cgi.ebay.com/Western-Digital-1TB-My-Book-USB-2-0-External-Hard-Drive_W0QQitemZ220273932214QQihZ012QQcategoryZ158825QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. My name is Santiago (like the capital of Chile), which in the Spanish bible is the book of James (no, I'm not a religious type, but when I was taken to church as a lad, I noticed this while killing time for donuts and orange juice) so I loosely used "Jimmy" to fit the Simpsons character pictured in my avatar...probably the most drawn out explanation possible, but it is what it is.
  15. I have an extra copy of Liars newest self-titled LP on white if anyone is looking for a trade
  16. In Tampa they call it that "high pressure" mids... :
  17. A friend of mine has the above Canon and I have to say, it does take a damn good picture, and it has all the potential for add-ons and whatnot. Do heed the advice of the extended warranty...I work at office depot, and if you buy something under $599, it is a "replacement plan", meaning if you just don't like the camera (after the 1-year manufacturer's warranty expires and the plan begins), call the number for the warranty company and they will mail you a check for what you paid. They won't ask you to mail in the "broken" item because it would cost more to fix than it would to just mail you a check. This is what my boss tells me, so it may be b.s....just f.y.i.
