  1. I have cancelled orders before due to non-payment after a certain number of days. Someone tried to buy an Alexisonfire thing and didn't pay for a while, and I eventually said 'Please send payment or communication or I will be forced to re-list the item.' He said he couldn't pay until Friday of the next week, which would have made his payment period a total of 2 weeks where the album was in limbo. I politely told him I don't do business that way. The option was there to click, and I did, and Discogs automatically gives negative feedback and the reason for it (in my case it said No payment received from buyer after 6 days.) If you are wary of giving premature negative feedback, don't click that button, but after a while it becomes unreasonable to continue waiting.
  2. Oh wow. Snatched that and those two Thee Oh Sees along with Damaged Bug, interesting garage label. Those TOS tapes look like they're almost gone, I'd hop on it if anyone's a fan.
  3. PM'd about Pope tape! That's really nice of ya.
  4. The Caddywhompus tapes are in my possession and I want to dance around. Sell me more things!
  5. Well I wanted to read Naked Lunch or some Vonnegut but everyone's like nooooooooooo
  6. So a couple coworkers and I have started a pseudo 'book club'. Three people kinda snowballed into like twelve. We were just at a bar one day lamenting that we barely read anymore. So we decided to start reading, and vote on books we're going to read and have discussions and whatnot. The first book is The Unbearable Lightness Of Being, and I understand it's somewhat of a classic but it's really not grabbing me - I'm not glued to the pages. The writing style is odd as well, there seems to be no show, only tell. But next book is American Psycho and I am stoked.
  7. Final Fantasy Tactics. They had a full orchestra for that shit, to my understanding. Final Fantasy VII was talked about here for a bit, but it appeared that to get one (pic disc) copy shipped to me from EU would be about a hundred bucks, and in the end it just wasn't worth it.
  8. What's the difference between a music listener and a 'real' music listener
  9. It seemed like the first time around had a much better selection, it almost seems like they got no new stock since the last time. I'm through to the letter H of all clearance and I've found nothing I'm even vaguely interested in. Kinda disappointing but I guess my wallet is thankful.
  10. Saint Pepsi is rereleasing World Tour on cassette with bonus tracks, housed in a retro Pepsi can. Strictly limited to 20 copies. These vaporwave things tend to sell out fast so I wouldn't sleep on it.
  11. Finally got around to checking them out, not bad at all. Weeks Of Debate is a killer, actually. Seems gloomy and sedated at times yet upbeat or just fierce at other points. Might get that 7" they had with Nouns, thanks for the rec! Convinced a guy on Discogs to let go of all three Caddywhompus tapes!! I've been waiting so long for these to pop up. So they're in the mail but I added a couple others to make up for it!
  12. Still in it for Front Bottoms! You're still dope for doing this!
  13. It's pretty good, it's not completely my taste or what I normally listen to but I enjoy it and I'm glad to have it. I just emailed Nouns about their first pressing and whether they had any LP's or tapes lying around for sale: Hey buddy! It's super dope that you'd want one, but none of us actually even own a copy of our first pressings, or any of our tapes or records we just ended up selling them all. I'm sorry dude! /: That.... that makes me really sad actually
  14. Still don't understand, I never saw info about a first pressing
  15. Some great records in there, but unfortunately some is sold out. Was hopin to get on that old Walkmen album and The Year Of Hibernation on cassette, but nope.
  16. Woohoo! Thanks for the heads up! I totally forgot about Funeral Sounds, Heccra made a thread on /mu/ when there was just his tape and Alomar and I got both. I didn't realize they expanded to people like Nouns so quickly.
  17. I didn't mean to imply a connection between the two, although I can see how my post would do that. I just meant it as a point of reference in terms of his musical immersion and interests.
  18. My coworker did this and got some albums he enjoyed, some he didn't. Keep in mind this is a 19 year old. I usually wouldn't mention this but he's kind of on the Pitchfork / Urban Outfitters side of things. Hot Chip - One Pure Thought Gray Market Goods - Soldier Of Fortune / We Live In The Future (12" single) Holiday Shores - Columbus'd The Whim Heavy Winged - Waking, Shaking (drone, transparent grey vinyl, "really good") Hearts of Darknesses - Shit Fan Punx Get Busted (obnoxious experimental rock, "even better") I'm tempted but I'm fairly sure I wouldn't be happy with the results. Insound carries too wide a selection and I suspect most grab bag material is clearance stuff. I went through with the Polyvinyl grab bag deal and also got some good, some bad: 31 Knots - Trump Harm (pretty good) Aloha - Home Acres (love it) Asobi Seksu - Fluorescence (eh) The Ivory Coast - Clouds Ida - Tales Of Brave Ida If you're just looking for new shit to listen to, by all means do it, it's a cheap way to explore and potentially find some favorites. If you want generally recognized 'good' albums, don't do it and use the 25 bucks to just buy the album you want.
  19. I was hoping to get two copies of this album, one for me and one for the girlfriend since her birthday is approaching. It's sold out in most online retailers, on Discogs it's $35 which is laughable, and the only place to get it is Why?'s own website - which does UPS only, so shipping on two records is like fifteen bucks. I'll do that as a last resort, but in the meantime it can't hurt to see if anyone has an extra new or slightly used copy for sale. Let me know!
