I'd love to have that. Futures and that, the others take a backseat. Already got my Bleed American from a lovely board member, I don't think they'll be pressing the one thing they recently repressed. But if they did, people would still buy it, so who knows.

No Batman related stories here, but a lot of my favorite records have come from VC members that I hadn't found for decent prices anywhere else - Bleed American, Would It Kill You?, the Circa Survive represses, They Make Beer Commercials Like This - but the mother of all has to be The Stills - Logic Will Break Your Heart. Impossible to find for under 150 bucks, even though several thousand were made. They made some in 2003 I think, when it came out, and has never seen a repress. One of the first albums I really obsessed about, and after searching forever, someone on the boards popped up with one with a 'beaten up jacket' for 15 bucks. He then proceeded to get married, go on a honeymoon, and I think move into a new house or something, so for a couple agonizing months it was still up in the air. After all was said and done though he did get back to me, and now I own one of the albums I'll love my whole life.

Someone has just offered to trade one of his records for one of mine through Discogs. I consider it to be a good trade. My question is, what is the etiquette here? Does the person with LESS positive feedback send first, and the more positive user wait until record is received before sending his out? The only times I have sent on blind faith is through VC and sending incorrect records back to labels, and I'm somewhat uncomfortable about it. He's not entirely without feedback (1 positive as seller, 2 positive as buyer) but it doesn't make me very confident. Anyone have experience trading records on discogs?

I managed to cop an OOP copy of Maps And Atlases - Trees, Swallows, Houses from a member on this board after searching for it since the beginning of my collecting.. for a non-outrageous price! There were only 1250 made, all different variants, and discogs rarely had it up for more than a minute before it was snagged. Absolutely fantastic math rock album that won't be topped by that band because they've gone in some folky direction. If that's not enough, an extremely kind member from the EU did me a huge solid and grabbed the RSD Twilight Sad for me recently, since it wasn't released in the states. Some VC members can be extremely generous with their time and effort for other members and expect nothing in return, and I really appreciate it. I made it worth his while in the end, but he didn't have to do that just because I asked. Some genuinely nice people around here. If my low post count disqualifies me I understand but still gotta say it!

You have my full support, I'm all about those special edition tapes. While colors can be cool, sound quality trumps all. I know it's a bit of an oxymoron - cassette tape audio quality - but some people really know how to make a tape sound great. Excited to see what's coming. Best of luck in all your endeavors. Played from about 4th Edition (1993?) to Torment. I got into it solely because my big brother was way into it when I was young, and I wanted to join in. Plus, we both had someone to play with. I was casual since I was a kid and didn't have any money. I'd go to tournaments with my brother and some school friends sometimes. I heavily favored black, for some reason, while he favored blue because card advantage and counterspell. I never won anything but I kept going. I made a Delraich deck I thought was going to be hot shit. Turn one, swamp, Blood Pet or Duress. Second turn, swamp, Dark Ritual, Sengir Autocrat, sac the three tokens to cast Delraich for free, hope he doesn't have a Force Spike. Not surprisingly it wasn't that good. One time I went with my brother's deck since he couldn't go and almost made Top 8. It was a Wild Research deck. Right around freshman year of high school (2002) I made some internal decision that if I was ever going to have friends or be 'cool' I should probably dump the cards. My brother is 29 and still plays, although he still doesn't really win important tournaments. I still play the old Microprose 'Shandalar' thing from time to time when I get bored but I can't be fucked to start buying cards again. There's way too much shit I missed.
