  1. I'm hoping the dark artwork is indicative of a Hail to the Thief type album. Also, can someone please explain what constitutes a "newspaper album"?
  2. I just started re-listening to this recently. I bought a copy when I saw them with Strung Out in 2001. It truly is one of the great unsung records from that genre, I think.
  3. Camp Lazlo and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends for best children's shows The Brak Show, Aqua Teen for adults.
  4. That's what I don't get...the pairings are fucking silly. I'm not opposed to the idea though. I don't post here much anymore, but it seems like if this thread was made by someone more in with the VC cool kids, it would be better received.
  5. Drabs, you and I have kind of lost touch and, in all sincerity, this thread has made me miss you very much. You gave shit to Scott, made an educated and informed statement about urban living, and threw in a Law & Order reference...all in one thread. You are one of my favorite humans.
  6. It's okay for the following bands: Slayer GWAR Would be okay for Misfits if the current line-up wasn't a total abortion.
  7. I wouldn't rule out the possibility they were aiming for you.
  8. Here's the full article. Holy Jesus... http://www.theledger.com/article/2011012....g-Ab use-Menace
  9. Not only was Jeff Bridges coherent, but I think this was the Coens' most quotable film since Lebowski. Coincidence? I think not.
  10. dammmmmmmmmmmmmmittttttttttttttttttttttttt. At least there's still Mojo.
  11. Fuck, i totally misunderstood. i'm not opposed to last minute show hopping, but i'd probably miss titus andronicus by the time i got there.
  12. Last two: Frightened Rabbit/Plants & Animals @ Common Grounds in Gainesville Ted Leo/Screaming Females @ The Social in Orlando There were so many awesome shows in October that I had to pass up, but both of those were amazing.
  13. No order: Broken Social Scene--Forgiveness Rock Record Local Natives--Gorilla Manor The Gaslight Anthem--American Slang None More Black--Icons Mumford & Sons--Sigh No More Menomena--Mines Baths--Cerulean TL/RX--The Brutalist Bricks Spoon--Transference Superchunk--Majesty Shredding
  14. ok, like im gonna listen to someone whos too cowardice to talk shit to me with their real account, so they hide behind a fake one. cool story, BRO. The word you're looking for is COWARDLY. And you're all forgetting the coolest part of the show - Mark Mothersbaugh doing art time.
  15. What happened to Candy Bars? Are they still a band? Their one album was amazing. Kill Creek was from there and William S. Burroughs lived there for the last few years of his life. I wish I could rep my town more. The only decent band from here was The Why I Oughtas/All Ages. Copeland and Anberlin are from here but they are the suck. EDIT: They aren't really from my area, but close. Anyway, Airplains are awesome. FFO: ATDI, Twelve Hour Turn, Joan of Arc.
  16. Also, Kitchens and Bathrooms. They put out one album on Forge Again.
