I do this and I can't shake the habit. My dad is hard on hearing, so my whole life I have listened to someone respond with "what" to a lot of conversations. I'm working on it.

Use craigslist.com. I found a very nice Marin commuter bike for $125. The dude just didn't like it and kept it in his basement for a few years. Repairs only cost me $15. I get a lot of compliments on it, but aside from that it's an amazing bike even without them. Long story short, waiting out and just checking craigslist every now and then saved me money and got me a great bike.

That's where I found out about the pirate book. edit: They were in fact probably horrid people, but they were also racially tolerant, came up with a form of worker's compensation, and apparently regulated smoking and drinking.

There is also a book coming out about the economics of piracy and how they were the first ones to use democracy and healthcare systems.

I live in Kansas. I went to kansas.gov or whatever the states website was, and was able to file state taxes for free. I'm sure where you live, they do the same thing. I hate when I do federal taxes online for free, but at the end, they say "oh you used this feature and that cost $50" so then I have to sign up for some other site and try again.

I think small labels, as groups of friends and supporters (collectives if you will), will continue to flourish no matter the situation. If I'm on a friends label and we both put work into it and we both get support from it, I would stay with that label.

What I hate the most about m-f day jobs is that you are pretty much destroying the idea of ever seeing the afternoon sun during the week. Fuckin' depressing. Sometimes I deliver stuff for my office so I'm out and about for an hour and it sad to think that that is the most free I will feel for quite some time; like if I bolt in that one moment, I will get away clean. Then, I use vacation to go somewhere else. I should just stay in town next time. I generally sleep at least 6 hours on weekdays. My psychology class is telling me I should be getting at least 8 for some very good reasons.

Agree. It sounds like people are saying if he was pulled over on the way, it would have been just, but since he was in a hospital parking lot, it isn't. The guy did break the law. The cop was a dick about it and should have let him in the hospital and maybe just issued a ticket in the mail or something if at all. What if the guy caused a wreck going through one of those signs? I hate to be a dick, but I bet he would have made it to the hospital in time if he had not run the signs, then he wouldn't have some asshole cop trying to give him a ticket.

This shit is getting fucked because a couple of my bosses have it and have asked if we should add each other. I said it would be a conflict of interest. That is dangerous. Jobs can be lost because of facebook and myspace which I think is completely crossing some ethical line.

Me and my wife were watching that movie and she says "he's got a big dick!" I just let it go. Then later that night she's sucking my dick and she stops and looks at my wang and says "eh, I guess it's about the same as yours."
