konk reacted to companyinkrecs in Paper + Plastick Fourth of July Sale
I didn't order any of these sale items and am just creepily lurking to watch the arguments, but I think everyone can at least give Thomas credit for responding to pretty much every single post in this thread. Very non-RJ of him.

Maybe I should start way overestimating the shipping dates for things so it'll look like we're shipping a week early instead of a couple of weeks late. The problems we face are no different than the problems other labels do - unreliable estimates from plants, messed up test presses, etc - we're talking about an imperfect system here when it comes to vinyl production. Problems like these are a given for a label with up to 30 releases a year.
We had two huge, epic disasters occur in February 2011 - Dave Hause and Red City Radio were both extremely bad delays (about 4 months) at the exact same time - and since then people have not been able to look past any delay, no matter what the length. There was a different mailorder guy back then and a different label manager. I was in my first month as an intern at that point in time. Everything is different now and we do our best to relay the weird info from the pressing plant to our customers when there are delays. Things still aren't perfect yet but it's definitely not something that can be turned around in a short time. Even when things get better - and for all intents and purposes, things have gotten a lot better since I was hired - we still have issues like the problems with this current sale and the Chad Gilbert preorder. We're trying our best and I think moving our HQ next month will be a huge step toward the label having the streamlined mailorder and customer service system that I have wanted it to have since I came on board about a year ago.

Especially if you didn't expect it and it ends up all over the floor when opening the box and your dog immediately runs to eat it.

According to Armstrong, a song on the album, titled "Kill the DJ", would be close to "straight-up dance music" and "four-on-the-floor rhythm" which the band hasnever done before.
This sounds promising...

konk reacted to natealcatraz in Turntable only producing sound on left speaker
Just a follow-up from what I did....
I replaced the leads. Apparently they were old. Now I had full stereo. I realized I wasn't getting full sound when I would listen to a song and certain guitar parts or melodies weren't as loud as they should be.

konk reacted to gmoney in HOT TOPIC CLEARANCE VINYL THREAD - UPDATED 12/6/11
You should have no problem getting this. They still have a ton in stock.
They become active at a random time - usually around 8 or 9 AM EST.
You will not be able to combine both.
Last time there was not one of these - only a $60 off $120.

If you really wanna make it next-level, have it automatically match up your wants with someone else's haves. Like, it will notify you of all the users who have the record you want on their list.

konk reacted to hellbent in PO: Sum 41 - All Killer, No Filler
Ok, first your logic is extremely poor. More so than mine. Let's take a look at returning the "warped" lp. Who do you return it to? SRC or Asbestos. i never said you're not able to send it back either one or that Revhq or any other distros would take them back . All i said was he probably had more to ship out for that was said in one of his previous posts. Why take on the task of issuing replacements if not all the orders were shipped in the first place. Finish one step 100% then go to the next. I'm sure the next step is contacting individuals that want the replacements or refunds.
Second, blaming of the USPS. What have you or any others done to voice your concern with USPS? Still have not heard any one reaching out to their local branch and filing a complaint. I blame YOU for not bringing these issues to their desk. To me you are complaining and whining to people that have no control over a package that leaves their facility/home for yours. The pics provided show a "USPS Strong Man/Women" Competition with some of the packages. How the hell would an extra piece of cardboard have saved it from arriving "U" shaped? Anyone experiencing extreme heat too? Anyone? i guess it's just where i live that it's been in the upper 90's for almost three weeks straight. Extra bubble wrap or card board in a LP mailer would not have kept the heat from getting to the items. I mean if you paid a little extra maybe Flood or SRC could have thrown in some cold packs. Then I guess you could complain about water damage then.
Third, Asbestos' budget. I have no knowledge nor do i care what their budget is. If Flood puts out records and says he can deliver them by X day or X month then I expect it to happen. I understand there are set backs and missed dates but I believe he has expressed that it's just him doing the shipping, emails, account, inventory management, licensing, and so on and so forth. And how the hell would raising the price of shipping or charging more for the record keep the heat at bay or less warping. It's cardboard and plastic! It's not designed to lower temperatures in trucks/vans or packages!
I do not know Flood on personal level. I have never communicated directly with him, met him in person, or skype'd with him, or talked to him on any other message board. All I know is there are MANY factors that played into this and extra packaging of bubble wrap or a piece of card board would deter the heat wave across this country. If I am wrong about the bubble wrap and card board please let me know. Also, if any one has filed a complaint with the USPS I would like to here your story of what they said.
Second and final rant is done.
