Most likely (at least I hope), the pissed off backers will file a class action suit and clean the guy out. This is clearly a bait and switch, and the stereogum article a couple of pages back lays out the case better than any lawyer could.

Hell, in the article, the founder even admits that the business model was fundamentally changed *after* the kickstarter had closed. People bought in expecting Netflix for vinyl, and only afterwards realized it was "three random shitty records a month club".

This is like pre-ordering a new GTA game, but when you show up at Gamestop, they tell you they already ran out and give you a used copy of Vice City instead. They'd get sued six ways to Sunday, and so should this guy.

I would absolutely pay for Attitude-era themes on vinyl. I'd immediately regret it, spin it once or twice, and leave it on my shelf for two years before re-selling it. But I'd still totally buy it.

Not sure who was asking for a repress of the 80's albums. Then again I could say the same for 75% of this list.

Top two threads in this forum right now - Say Anything releasing an album on four 10", and Taking Back Sunday re-releasing Happiness Is on eight 7".

Love both those bands, but I can't support this. Just put out a double LP, and knock this shit off.

Which you and I both know is never actually going to happen. I think on some level, he knows that himself...but waxing poetic about "saving music" and public service projects is a lot better than accepting the fact that you're a hoarder suffering from some sort of mental illness.

His interns catalog 500 records a day - one of his buyers estimates that it would take 20 years to go through the current collection. And that's assuming that he stops buying more records...every purchase just adds to the timeline.

Take the lot he bought at the beginning of the article - 3 million records in late 2013. At 500 a day, that's an additional 6000 days (or ~17 years) of work added just from one purchase. God only knows how many he had before that, and how many more he's bought since. The math just doesn't add up.

The article does a really good job of trying to paint him as a passionate collector who's trying to do right by the music. The irony is that in his attempt at saving these records from being lost to history, he's ensuring that the majority of them will suffer that exact fate. He's 62, and when he dies, no one in their right mind is going to try to take on a collection of this size. Most of these albums are going to continue to sit in warehouses, forgotten, until they end up in some Brazilian landfill, never seeing a turntable again. It's just sad.

I have a hard time believing anyone in that video is going to live to the end of the series.

RIght now the only person I feel confident about surviving is Wendy. And that's only because - if you assume that Gemma dies and Jax dies or goes to prison - she's the last person who can take and raise the boys. I mean, they could go to foster care if literally everyone around them ends up dead...but I have a hard time believing Sutter will do that. There's a reason he promoted Drea de Matteo to a series regular; she's going to play a big part in the endgame.

I also have a gut feeling that Tig will bite it within the first 2-3 episodes. He's been living on borrowed time for a while now, and it's a good way for Sutter to ease us into what will surely be a season full of dead bodies.

Can't wait,,,and at the same time, I'm dreading it. This has been my favorite series for years now, and I don't want it to end.

I got it covered up already with a R.I.P. Brian griffin tattoo. The only way this is believable is that Victory were the ones who found this logo. And they're pretty fucking stupid.

Yeah, don't you know you're supposed to sell your records at a loss? You eat the shipping, and the fees, because it's for the good of the community. Or some shit like that.

Flipping is buying an album with the intent to turn around and sell it in order to turn a profit. A ~$10 markup on an auction that already has free shipping doesn't seem like someone trying to max out his profit margin.

I mean, it's an autographed, numbered, OOP variant - a true flipper would have put this up at a much higher starting price. Hell, there are currently two other auctions for the clear variant, and they're both asking at least $69.99. That's flipping.

I know flippers are a problem, and I don't like them anymore than the next guy, but can we chill on throwing it around as an insult/accusation at every person who puts up an auction?

Maybe it's just me, but it's much cooler getting the autograph on your own than buying something that is already signed.

And for whoever still is interested it is NOT sold out, they have put the remaining copies online and can be purchased here.

First of all, it's not OOP.  They still have them on the looney tunes website.  Also did they even charge shipping for pick-ups at the in-store?  So yeah putting it up for 15 bucks more than cost isn't really a margin.  And justifying the starting price because there are tons of people/ebay stores who list things at a $65-100 buy it now all the time doesn't justify that as a price point.

You also started the bid at 35.00 which is 10+ more dollars than you paid for it. Glad your auctions up to 61 bucks though, flipper.
I guess people don't realize that its still available (I'm pretty sure) and isn't difficult to catch them after a show to get something signed.

Hahah. Not a flipper. Would just rather that this was being appreciated rather than sitting on my shelf collecting dust. It looks awesome. I have other things signed by Bayside, I really don't need this one.
The $35 price I started it at was lower than every other price on eBay. Even for the standard black variants. And especially so for the clear variants. There's a couple of people with multiple copies, unsigned at that, asking 3 figure prices. THAT's flipping. This also was not otherwise available when I listed it.
Also consider $4 of that $10 markup is shipping. And there's ebay fees. And PayPal fees. So, what markup? This is basically at cost. So there's a slight possibility that I might have walked away 17 cents richer at my asking price? Wow.
I'm just trying to get this into the hands of someone who maybe wasn't lucky enough to be at the acoustic set but hey, believe/downvote what you want dudes. There's plenty of times I've taken LPs others couldn't get and sold them at cost right here on the boards. All I try to do is help and I'd hope that some of you would do the same.
