the thing about dakota is that a lot of ppl in pgh knew about it that sort of stuff and ppl who tried to say something were dismissed. it definitely wasn't some secret.

Last night I was listening to records completely fine, when all of the sudden my stereo started making a very loud consistent hum tone. I can't figure out what's causing it. It plays on all the speakers, so it can't be them. You can hear it quietly on every channel of the amp, but it's very loud on the phono channel. To make it weirder, the volume control doesn't effect it on any other channel, but on the phono channel the tone can be controlled with the volume. I tried unplugging the turntable and it's still present. I just can't figure it out and it's driving me crazy!! I have a marantz 2240b. Anyone have any tips or ideas?
