  1. I thought it might be useful to have a thread where people looking for help from VIP (or other similar title) members of distro websites could come for help getting records they wouldn't otherwise be able to get. It's not for (for example) the VIP section at Joyful Noise where it costs $5 to become a member, but rather somewhere like Nuclear Blast where you have to spend hundreds of dollars/pounds/euros just to become a Bronze member, and then there are two more levels after that. I have recently become a Nuclear Blast Germany bronze member, so anyone looking for information on what's available and help in getting anything can PM me.
  2. I'm really unimpressed by Music On Vinyl's customer service. No recall on Angel Dust to correct the mispress. No information on the mispress sent to stores (or at tleast the two stores I communicated with about it). No refund for the international postage to send the record back to them to get it replaced. An inner sleeve so split that I could almost open it like a book to get the record out. And the general impression I got from the tone of the email exchange with them was they did not care about any of the above.
  3. Mine arrived on this side of the Atlantic today in a cardboard envelope but in good shape. Still should have been sent in a better mailer. Also came with a price sticker on it of $18.99. Seems odd when I bought it direct from the label.
  4. Soundgarden Sinlges box set: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JSYZVT4/ref=pe_139610_118291150_em_1p_4_ti This is certainly a lot cheaper than it was in the UK. Legiti, ate RSD stores have it for $130+.
  5. As I leave close to their offices, I emailed Chemikal to find out if i could pick it up from them (it seems silly for me to pay shipping if they have them at their offices) or if it is going to be available elsewhere. Here's what they said: Not sure if that helps people outside the UK, but it might mean Insound or actual bricks and mortar US stores will get it.
  6. This one's novelty value is calling to me and I'm sure it will end up on this thread if I do: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380874592171?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  7. Anyone? Am I going to have to create a deranged fanboy alter-ego to get rid of my downvotes? Perhaps someone who discovered vinyl through the One Direction 7" and now wants help getting their entire catalogue pressed on vinyl.
  8. This, apparently: https://myspace.com/kingguavanc
  9. Depends why it failed. I'm assuming that there were no typos in the email address. It's certainly not a good sign. If you feel you have a legitimate reason to do so, open a case on Paypal. I have resorted to this a couple of times when the seller hasn't responded to messages when they've sent the wrong item. You could also try calling them on the 'phone, but that's probably not cheap as it's an international call.
  10. I see the free delivery threshold has gone up.
  11. There's stock from RSD 2012 that still says 'one per customer'. Email them and ask.
  12. I have. Communication was sporadic but helpful. Biggest problem was that the store wasn't up to date and the record I wanted the most wasn't in stock. I think it's just one guy running it so you might not hear back immediately. He seemed trustworthy. Leave it however long you're willing to wait and then email again. Make sure the subject of the email has the order number or the company name in it or something so it doesn't get filtered out by a spam filter.
  13. As I checked out as a guest, I emailed them to ask the status of the order: 'your order is on the bubble between getting out this week and being in the 2nd shipping round. fingers crossed IF it ships this week, you will get an email'. I place the order well over an hour before it was marked as sold out on the site. Looks to me like it was oversold, possibly to see what the demand was. When it turned out to be high enough, they announced they'd press more.
  14. I'm assuming you'd prefer not to have to import it, but: http://www.actionrecords.co.uk/buy/pennyroyal-tea-i-hate-myself-rsd-2014_556704.htm Have bought from them a number of times.
  15. We'll see what state mine is in once it's crossed the Atlantic. When I ordered last night, I put in a couple of US zipcodes to see how US shipping compared, and they were only charging $5. I used an east coast and a west coast (90210) zipcode. Another reason to get annoyed?
  16. The Suede price on Discogs is only £1 more than I paid for it in store. No idea how much shipping would be. Edit: Action Records have Suede and Trembling Bells listed. Prices are a £1 markup on those I paid for these two. No idea if they ship outside the UK. http://www.actionrecords.co.uk/
  17. Compared to what they were being sold for on the day, that's a very good price.
  18. I'm guessing from your posts you're Dutch and may have a connection to New On Vinyl and also that English isn't your first language, so this is not meant to sound mean in any way. There is a big difference between shipped and shipping. Weinerdog said shipped, which is the total price paid to the seller. Shipping is just the cost of sending it to the buyer. In this case, it's $47 minus $20.69 which is about right.
  19. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLIND-MELON-SAME-TITLE-LP-limited-edition-2000-Bee-colored-vinyl-/291125641256 Especially as this is half the price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blind-Melon-S-T-Sippin-Time-LP-vinyl-record-sealed-/390828944477
  20. No more than $20 a record. Go live outside the USA. This post is not an attempt to elicit sympathy for us Rest of the World folks; just saying.
  21. Also here: http://www.resident-music.com/productdetails&product_id=29629 Resident are my online store of choice.
  22. I haven't read the whole thread so I may have missed this site, but has anyone tried contacting these people? http://www.strictlydiscs.com/page/about/us/intheknow?id=310 They may just be lousy at updating their list. I bought Failure's Magnified from them on Black Friday over the 'phone, so they're legit. Apologies if this path has been travelled and found to be a dead end.
  23. Banquet says -2. I never saw one, but I may not have gone to the right store early enough. None at Rough Trade.
